What I collect: Worldwide Stamps 1840-1930

All of the posts in the Newfoundland Forgeries thread (many thanks to firstfrog2013 and @falshung for their informative posts) got me to looking at my own holdings, and I actually have accumulated more than I thought I did. Another sorting and organizing project awaits, that's for sure! My favorite of the lot is my latest acquisition, which also happens to be my first Newfie imperf. So, here is a Scott #11A which I acquired for a good price in a small auction, and having reviewed Falschung's WW Forgery site on this issue, I think that mine is genuine, but of course, second opinions are welcome. I know the dealer from whom I got the stamp pretty well, and I am sure that he would give me a refund if there were a problem.

I can't stress enough to know your material. I spotted this one while skimming through my sellers list, just killing time. While it cost me a tad bit more than I wanted to spend, it is a most difficult stamp to find. I'll post a scan when it arrives.

Of course my favorite Newfoundland stamp is the Scott 56-57-58 dog stamps. Especially that they are the new "Dog Scratch" constant variety stamps going to be in the 2020 Unitrade Catalouge. Robert

I collect King George VI stamps so my favorites from Newfoundland are the sets issued in the 1930's. The designs were reused for the long Coronation set and then reprinted using a different perforation. One stamp that I am really curious about is a double perfed 10c issue that I purchased from Gary Lyon. I don't know how it happened to be perforated a second time, but it makes an unusual item.

As I was perusing the pages of TSF looking for something different (as opposed to my usual 'NZ Chalons') to look at I came upon Newfoundland and remembered that I had an interesting postmark on an early SG42 (1877) 3d blue rouletted. Bay Roberts ? Any info on this lovely looking postmark appreciated. Dave

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

The community dates back to the 16th century with European fishermen were coming there. It is a wonderful part of the world with amazing people and their own fun loving culture. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_Roberts
