I can't identify the postmark on this stamp. It is something "VILLAGE". On my listing of Bechuanaland postmarks I don't have any VILLAGE's. I am hoping the brains trust here may be able to help out.

Clever man, well done. There appears to be a slight difference of spelling, with an 'E' where the first 'O' of 'GABORONES' is, making this CDS 'GABERONES VILLAGE'

Unfortunately it is a fake produced by Benjamin and Sarpy in London.
The measurements of the genuine overprint are as follows:
The distance between the two words is 3.8mm measured from the bottom of 'r' in 'British' to the top of 'u' in 'Bechuanaland'.

Just a personal observation on those fakes, but which I haven't seen mentioned, the genuine items appear to be better horizontally aligned.
Noticeable on the five shillings example above, the overprint is positioned on a slight angle, which I noticed on other fakes of these issues also.
And one other thing. Looking real closely to see whether the overprint is beneath or on top of the postmark cancellation, sometimes gives them away, when the overprint is obviously on top of the cancel.
Happy and succesful hunting `Paul

Part of my Bechuanaland Protectorate collection, I collect both mint and used. Unfortunately, still in a stock book; another example of the old adage that the "cobbler's children go barefoot".
The top row are used, the bottom all MNH.
