It looks to me like she has a bad case of chicken pox or measles! But it is a beautiful example of a postage stamp! For Nova Scotia (as New Brunswick) it is good to have the reference materials as it gets complicated with "classic" stamps - I have not really gone to N.S. yet, though I have some stamps but have not done "inventory" yet - I prefer to finish New Brunswick ($$$) and then go to Nova Stotia....more stamps but histoy is the same (except the 5 cent Connell !!

Today I finally found time to go through the NS lot from LB1.I thought I had spied something odd about this one before I had put it aside and today after looking at it again I'm still not absolutely sure what it is I'm seeing. If you look closely at the right side of the stamp the shading is blurred and my eyes seem to see a "ghost" figure of the stamp image.... I will dig out my copies and have a close look at mine ans see I see same thing on any of them. I have over a dozen to check. david

Your weird dotted line almost matches the spacing of the perforation which suggests that the comb rested at that space for some reason without enough weight to penetrate.

looking for opinions on these two items on EBay. They both are described as « well centred ». To my eye that is not the case. How can something be centred if perfs have been trimmed. centering has never been much of an issue for me. could anyone guide me in finding out how centering is graded or classified. Just want to educate my self on the subject. David

dgdecker 1 - Your 12 1/2cent has been trimmed on the right side.Still can see old perf marks...Not a good copy. 2 - Your 3 pence does not have neat borders..Compare picture below.
Also bad scan..See what i mean,,

could anyone guide me in finding out how centering is graded or classified. Just want to educate my self on the subject. Hi, David! Do you own a Scott Catalogue of any type? If you do, there is an introductory section at the start of the catalogue that illustrates exactly what they mean about grading for centering, and how it fits in with their catalogue values. Other catalogue publishers may do something similar; I have not checked. If you do not have a resource, I would be happy to post some excerpts to help you, but if it comes to that, it should not be done in this thread. So, please let me know, and I will try to help if I can. Thanks!

Thanks for offer to help out. i am not considering purchasing these items. They do not look « cantered » as one has trimmed perfs and other has uneven margins. david

Robert, Thanks for your input. These are scans from seller on EBay. I have no plans to purchase as they look so uneven to me. Your comparative scans confirmed what my eyes saw. Getting better at this. David
