Your weird dotted line almost matches the spacing of the perforation which suggests that the comb rested at that space for some reason without enough weight to penetrate.

looking for opinions on these two items on EBay. They both are described as « well centred ». To my eye that is not the case. How can something be centred if perfs have been trimmed. centering has never been much of an issue for me. could anyone guide me in finding out how centering is graded or classified. Just want to educate my self on the subject. David

dgdecker 1 - Your 12 1/2cent has been trimmed on the right side.Still can see old perf marks...Not a good copy. 2 - Your 3 pence does not have neat borders..Compare picture below.
Also bad scan..See what i mean,,

could anyone guide me in finding out how centering is graded or classified. Just want to educate my self on the subject. Hi, David! Do you own a Scott Catalogue of any type? If you do, there is an introductory section at the start of the catalogue that illustrates exactly what they mean about grading for centering, and how it fits in with their catalogue values. Other catalogue publishers may do something similar; I have not checked. If you do not have a resource, I would be happy to post some excerpts to help you, but if it comes to that, it should not be done in this thread. So, please let me know, and I will try to help if I can. Thanks!

Thanks for offer to help out. i am not considering purchasing these items. They do not look « cantered » as one has trimmed perfs and other has uneven margins. david

Robert, Thanks for your input. These are scans from seller on EBay. I have no plans to purchase as they look so uneven to me. Your comparative scans confirmed what my eyes saw. Getting better at this. David

WERT After your last accusation, Admin wrote: "You have previously hosted your images on the imgbb.com site (the "Add image to post" button). If you are now trying to use the "Upload images" button, you must first request an account on the TSF Image Host. If you are using the imgbb host and are not allowed to upload, you must address the problem with them as we have no control over that platform. Please address any further image upload issues by personal message so as to not detract from the thread's focus." If you are still having problems posting images, then please ask for help from Admin via personal message. Happy Collecting Londonbus1

... I was going to post a few of mine but TSF won't allow me to post pics... I don't know what your problem posting images is but I'm fairly certain that TSF has nothing to do with it. If you'd like to get to the bottom of the problem, send me a PM describing the process you are using while attempting to add images. As I stated previously, you don't have an account on the TSF Image Host so, if you are trying to use the "Upload images" button, you won't be allowed.
