Mine always looks like a mess! And when your thinking of that I try to get stamps in accurate order, it's kind of fun to look at the desk.

Oh the luxury of having a desk, with enough space to put an album down, open.
I am not jealous, no, the end of the cupboard next to my chair will do for my catalogue or the floor.

tobben63 Yeah that looks about normal maybe a bit neater than mine.I guess the bigger the surface the bigger the mess.I use an old dining table I've been dragging along for years. It ends up covered in three or more projects at once.

Oh, if only I had such a big desk. I do have a great space but desk just not right. I have many shelves and storage space. For bigger projects I use my dining table. When that happens it means a week of meals in front of television.

Nice thread tobben63 I have been inactive on the forum the last weeks (whilst very busy in my stamp room ) - so I missed the thread until now. I tidied my desk yesterday, but by coincidence I did make a snap of my chaos last week. This is how it looked like then, sorting stuff from a Sandayfayr box, cleaning dirty stamps etc.

No computer on your stamping desk? I'd be lost without it. I suppose when you stamp, you stamp! Not much for distractions at your desk.

You're right - no fixed computer yet, only using my laptop. I have 2 additional screens to my laptop, giving a total of 3 screens, I just haven't bothered to install them in my new stamp room quite yet...too eager to work with the actual stamps

Below is a photo of our kitchen table from a few days ago when Jon asked me what I was working on. Shown in the photo are stamps from Gavin's GB lot ( feebletodix) and an open stock book that I got from Frog ( firstfrog2013) a couple of years ago. The stamps in the stock book are sorted from another mixed lot I bought a year ago or so.

Beryllium Guy - I am doing the same, I find it much more convenient to use catalogs on a screen - and it also gives more free space on the desk for more stamps - or more chaos The catalogs are looking quite small on the laptop though, about time I get the proper monitors fixed on the wall

My initial small amount od space in front of the computer has proven impractical, so my realm of chaotic order has expanded to this- (my wife has been incredibly understanding!)

Hahaha, yes beyond doubt!! I am at work offshore. When I am here I am also limited to a very small desk. Quite a challenge to get something done! Picture from a Belgium medallion study last night.

Impressive that you can still travel with parts of your collection to the offshore platforms. I suppose one must busy oneself on those long nights...

Indeed, absolutely keeping myself busy!! - but I wouldn't call them 'long nights' myself - actually the nights always seems to be much too short!! Hahaha. The nights while stamping always pass much too quickly - absolutely the best part of this job

Rene, hahaha, for sure - but there's no drinking allowed on any ship or boat no more anyway. In general - I'd say it's better for blaamand anyone to pass his time "stamping" than "drinking" with the boys I believe stamping has helped to reduce consumption of alcohol and worse - keeping our minds on a good path

I went from a big white table to this desk which use to be in my hubby's hobby room. I feel like I'm a bit crowded but oh well. A place to work is better than stamping on the floor On a little table behind me is the box with the GB stamps that need to be put in the album and my Harris album which holds a set of duplicates.

blaamand That is a bush that has groups of red berries (poisonous) on it. We have several along the front of the house. The leaves are green, pink and yellow. They are quite pretty when kept groomed. What you don't see is right out front of the window is a bird feeder and bird bath. Another of my passions-watching birds all day.

Yes I would love to see birds outside my window but my window is too far away, pictures coming shortly as lately my stamp desk has not seen too much activity. However l always have my laptop and a shoebox of interesting items l bring to work where l have more time for TSF and stamp researching!

Well, my stamp desk is my lap usually. I do all my stamping sitting on the couch, which is a recliner, while watching TV with my wife. Here are the pictures from this morning. My dog Pixie is usually right here with me too. The laptop has my Michel catalog on it. The book on the right is the cancelled stamp, German album I am working on. The book in the center is the mint stamp, German album that I am removing the used stamps from, and putting mint stamps in. The book on the left is my stock book of course. I also have my 4 plastic stamp drawers on my right side, between our tables, which contains all the boxes of stamps in glassines, extra pages, covers, supplies, etc and my Scott catalog and other books are under my table. I may not be a very neat person, but I know where everything is! LOL. My wife is actually pretty good at putting up with my stamping, including she will soak stamps for me when I ask her to.
