I recently downloaded some Steiner pages and don't want to punch holes in them. What are the albums called that open where one can slide in pages? Anyone know?

I have top loading sheet protectors (which accept full pages), but i suspect that may not be what you are referring to

and yesterday (sigh) i discovered PMGSSAPG_scribus and thusly so LibreOffice....so now my template efforts may have taken a back seat as I try and get through the newest learning curve asn this seems a superior way to proceed Not wanting to throw another spanner in the works, but you might want to take a look at AlbumEasy as an alternative to PMGSSAPG. Many people, but not everyone, find it easier to use. I do, but of course I am biased if you do decide to give it a try please shout if you have any questions. Clive

FINALLY found what I wanted on eBay after searching for hours. They're called springback binders.

clivel I have looked at it, but getting it to run on a Mac looks a bit more involved as far as loading script and such, and I don't feel my computer skills are quite up to the task I may still endeavor to try and follow the instructions or look into the "Wine" application So many options- I will likely experiment and see which one seems the easiest for me to navigate through zipper - do these binders have screw posts or snap rings? They look nice on the exterior!

None. The covers fold back and you slide the pages in.

brightonpete, I'm collecting early Vicky from every country, so I'd make a mess putting them in and taking them out again. Hard to find, so will take awhile.

do these binders have screw posts or snap rings? Springback binders work sort of like a big bulldog clip. Philatelic springback binders are usually pretty strong and it takes a fair bit of effort to get them open. You don't want pages of stamps sliding around! Here's a video example of how they work, nabbed from a commercial video. The philatelic springback binders I've come across before are built to take pages which are considerably wider than regular 8-1/2" x 11" paper. There is extra width on the paper to allow for the clamping part of the binder, leaving a bigger-sized piece of paper on which you can mount your stamps. You'll need to make sure you're getting the right sized paper for your binders. Ryan

The instructions for building are not really too straightforward so I suggest that if you do decide to give it a try, then running as a Wine application would probably be the better option. Clive

I just found this thread on Steiner so I thought I'd add my few cents. I've been printing to Southworth 100% cotton, 32 lb., Ivory colored paper with a wove finish for years now. The prices just went way up. I used to get 250 sheets for about $30. Now I'm paying more than that for 100 sheets. Next order I may try some other options.
I've been designing my custom page using Microsoft Publisher. It all seems easy enough because I've created a few templated for different countries.
My main focus lately has been on several South American countries. I've been putting them in country specific 1 inch, 3 ring binders that I get on Amazon.

This is no longer the case. As of October 2019, AlbumEasy Version 4.1.0 is fully supported on Mac platforms along with Windows and Linux. Clive
