Beryllium Guy - yes, I have that set, the entire packet. I haven't decided what to do with the orange therein. Thanks

JeffS, Agatha Christie seemed to like her fruit trees and several are mentioned in her books. Specifically, Orange trees are mentioned in her novel 'Destination Unknown'. They also feature in various short stories.
There are multiple Beatles possibilities but I'll go with this one since there is a personal connection. In 1988 Mark Lewisohn's book, 'The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions' was published and it was launched at Abbey Road Studios and I was there. George Martin attended but none of the Beatles. Anyway, enough name dropping In the book a conversation is recounted between George Martin and John Lennon in relation to the album 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and the song 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!' which was based on a carnival poster that Lennon had seen. Lennon had said to Martin that he wanted the song to 'sound like an orange'!
So, the stamp would be the 'Sgt, Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' stamp from the GB 2006 set.

daniel - I agree with your stamp selection, the Sgt Pepper Album. But your reasoning needs some work, not what I am looking for. Hang in there...

Jeffs Is it because the vinyl was pressed on vinyl orange? Must say very cool vinyl xxxxx Do you have a copy of the Vinyl?
Some further interesting information about the Sgt Pepper album. The sgt pepper album cover was actually made by Peter Blake. I have researched Peter Blake as he has painted HM Queen twice and I collect Queen items. He was in the running to paint the Queen in 1969 but Pietro Annigoni was chosen as they were concerned about a pop artist painting the Queen. He eventually went to paint the Queen in 2012 for Radio Times June 2012 Diamond Jubilee cover.

I never thought my collection of HM Queen would lead to vinyl and a pop artist! Not just any vinyl, a Chris Levine Grace Jones special edition vinyl record that cost me £300 made by the vinyl factory. I dont even own a record player! i have since sold it on as I realised it really was a very crazy buy and not entirely related to HM Queen. It is amazing what paths I can lead you down!

jaysee - I finally picked up an example of that opera sheet with the opera about the three oranges. Thanks again for the heads-up on it.
Now comes the question -- will I remove the one stamp I need for my collection and incorporate it as a thematic element,
or keep the sheet intact as if I were a general stamp collector.

And a follow-up question... what is the difference between operas and musical movies and stage plays. I was confused seeing stamps for Porgy & Bess and West Side Story included as operas.
And, there was nothing to commemorate the rock-opera Tommy.
Go figger...

In this case, I'd remove the stamp and dump the rest! It's a "busy" sheet, making it a chore to zero in on the wanted item!

daniel - "With tangerine trees and marmalade skies" YES! Now for the Agatha Christie stamp tie-in!....... Think I may have the Agatha Christie tie in. Was it that various fruit trees were planted in her different books. Might be on the complete wrong path again but hopefully the information might be useful for your Orange theme. Orange: Destination unknown, and in three stories: The house in Shiraz, The edge and The fourth man. These are the other fruits and the books Apple tree: Five little pigs, The clocks, Halloween party (in the name of a house), Postern of fate (in the name of a house), The apples of the hesperides (short story, in the decoration on the cup). Chestnut: Manx gold (short story). Coconut: Caribbean mystery. Fig: Nemesis, Death on the Nile (title of a book by Salome). Sycamore or Sycamore fig: Death comes as the end, Peril at end house. Greengage: Postern of fate. Lime: Cat among the pigeons, One, two, buckle my shoe. Olive: The man in the brown suit. Orange: Destination unknown, and in three stories: The house in Shiraz, The edge and The fourth man. Quince: A murder is announced. Pear: the clocks. Agatha Christie was born in Torquay, a town in Devon, UK not far from where I live. You can go on tours and visit various places. I keep one day meaning to do the tour.

In Chrstie's novel The Clocks, Hercule Poirot solves a mystery whilst staying at home and ponders the reason his cleaner leaves orange peel in his umbrella stand.

Aha, now which country issued a stamp with umbrella's and orange peels? Peel is a town on the Isle of Man! Hence Jeff's choice of stamp. Between all of us, maybe we've cracked it. JeffS?

Perhaps it is due to the product "Murder on the Orange Express" lip balm!
I'm not really that good at puzzles, nor am I well-versed in Aggie's stories!
