They were issued in sheets, one for the warriors and another for the castles. When I'm back home, I'll show a whole sheet.

Cinderellas, to be issued on the 11th Artesa de Segre Gathering (scheduled for August 27th) designed by Bernardí Moya, who organises the event. They show different Catalan Independence flags. Down to up: The first (white star in a blue triangle), is the historical/classical Catalan Independence flag ("Estelada"), designed in 1908. It represents about 80% of the flags that you can see in our streets (the one that I've had on my balcony, since 2012). It's an evolution fron Cuban and Puerto Rico flags, coming (I guess!) from the Texan flag. So, there's a close connection with the "Lonely Star State". For this last reason, some leftish people, came with the idea of the second flag with the "comunist" red star, instead of the "American" one. It's also used in Catalan speaking areas, other than Catalonia (Valencia and the Balearic Islands), where the blue colour has some negative pro-Spanish meanings. The third, is an early XXth century version, seen on some pictures of the time. The forth is the latest version the so called "Donec Perfician" ("To achieve our goal" in Latin) it shows the star and Saint Eulàlia's saltire, the emblem of Barcelona's Citizens' Militia that (together with the Catalan Regular Army) faced the 1713/14 Franco-Spanish siege. The black background means "fight, up to the end". It's very often seen in our streets right now.

As today's the opening day of Gràcia's "Festa Major" (main feast). I'm showing a cinderella sheet issued in 1964 to commemorate the 100 years of the former township civil belfry, located on Gràcia's Town Square. We were there with Michael, five years ago!

1930: 100 years of the death of Frederic Mistral, father of the Occitan culture revival of XIX century and Nobel Prize winner. A good friend of Catalonia. He even came here once.
Note: I've just realised that the above cinderellas were printed in Marseille (France) and written in Occitan, not Catalan. The two sister languages, are so much alike that I've done a mistake.
