The 10 yen gray and orange, perf. 13, 52nd Rotary International Convention stamp (Scott 730) was issued May 29, 1961. The Convention was held in Tokyo from May 29 to June1, 1961. The stamp design features the Rotary emblem and people of various races. Below are images of two cacheted first day covers of the rotary stamp and their associated informational inserts.

I have a booklet containing the stamp with first day cancellation which I assume was made available as a souvenir for convention participants. The cover and first page

What I collect: Primarily focused on Japan, but lots of other material catches my eye as well ...

...I didn't realize that there were so many different cachets. I wouldn't have thought so either until I started trying to put together my U.S. Scott 929 FDC cachet collection! There were 61 different cachets listed in Mellone's for that particular issue.

I figured there'd be more for a US issue (although 61 is a lot!), but I thought I had really only seen 1 cachet/issue for Japanese fdc's. But maybe because the styles are pretty similar, judging from your Rotary examples, perhaps I hadn't been paying attention to who the Japanese cachet-maker was. I'll try to start looking a little more closely when I come across Japanese fdc's. (Actually, I have a box of them around here somewhere ...)

The rotary issue was the only one of my fairly limited number of Japan FDCs for which I had multiple covers so I can't say if it is an anomaly.
