Postcard, circulated from El Aaiun, (Spanish province of Sahara) to Terrassa (Catalonia) on August 1975. It was sent from a Catalan couple (the postcard is written on our language) to the family back at home. Probably, parents, visiting a son doing his military service there. It was normal for Spanish to send Catalan boys to do their military service on their African colonies (as punishment). My two unlces did that: one in Ceuta ("Spanish city" in Northern Africa) and the other on the out-post of Ifni. Some weeks after this card was posted, the boys on the Sahara, would be facing "The Green March" of Morocco into the, then, Spanish province, that resulted on the Moroccian occupation of this land, that has arrived to our days.

davidThe first two stamps are clearly what we think of as Spanish Sahara. The third stamp, RASD, is rather different, as it is a stamp/label for the Arab Republic of Western Sahara. A republic was declared and "stamps" were issued starting in the 1990s, but neither the country nor the stamps were recognized internationally. Whether the stamps legitimately moved mail locally, I cannot say. You could certainly choose to keep them together, but they're two different things.

Hello Cjd
Thank you for noticing this and letting me know :-)I will adjust them in my album today. Is it OK to say that the third stamp is a Cinderella then?

I would not call the RASD stamps "cinderellas", as they might have some real postal use on the liberated areas of Western Sahara outside the Moroccian occupation, situated on the East of the country.
It's clear that most RASD issues have a philatelic non-postal aim. But, what you would say about the modern UK issues? Would you dare to call them "cinderellas"?

In 1992, it was probably a propaganda label? (I wonder if that top right corner is a printed-on cancel?) Since then, I suspect the stamps might have done some local duty? Don't know. They might be locals.
Anyone know if these have popped up in a catalogue anywhere? There are a lot of "topical" targeted examples, and I bet some topical lists include them?
