As noted elsehwere, I have been going through the A Stamp for Every Country album and noticed spaces allocated for a government in exile. I do not know the prior history but felt somewhat timely given current situation. I looked in Scott and seems to refer to some Military Stamps issued in 1920. Scott Nos. M1-M16.

angore , I'm curious: does the ASFEC book have the Polish or Jugoslav, or for that matter Albanian, governments in exile?

From a quick scan searching on exile, I see Poland - Exile Government in Great Britain in WWII
This is all that listed for Albania.
Albania Kingdom 1913-1939
Albania Ital Occupation (Protectorate) 1939-1943
Albania German Administration 1943
Albania 1945 to date

Without pictures, it is difficult to understand what the topic is about.

angore , I think that the Ukraine Government-in-Exile has been touched on before with Ukrainian stamps prepared for use but not issued due to being absorbed into the USSR in 1918. Some catalogues list them as postage stamps, others (such as Stanley Gibbons Simplified), don't. kosmo , you showed a catalogue listing in this recent thread. Could also refer to this issue: Daniel

In November 1920, the "government" of the UPR in exile, which was already in Warsaw, selected three stamps of the Vienna series in 10, 20 and 40 hryvnia. On May 2, 1922, a black typographic overprint of the abbreviation "U. P. P." ("Ukrainian Field Post") in a rectangular frame and a new denomination was made on these stamps in Vienna. A total of 11 stamps were issued.

The 2018 Ukrainian stamp catalog published by Yaroslav Mulyk (Drohobych, Ukraine) has a May 1922 date for these field post stamps. 300,000 sets were printed in preparation for continued military operations. These never materialized and the stamps ended up in philatelic circles.
