Gràcia (Barcelona, Catalonia) August 1974. 25th Exhibition.
Printed like this:
The tower on the first cinderella is called "El campanar de Gràcia" (Gràcia's bellfry). Built in 1865, is "civil" (not nearby any church). The idea was to liberate town's folks from "the dictatorship of (Roman Catholic) church". It's Gràcias best known (for us!) landmark. It lies on the square where the former town of Gràcia council house is, called "Plaça de la Vila De Gràcia" (Gràcia's town square).

An International Philatelic Exhibition was held in Vienna in September 1911. This is a short set [set of 5] produced for the event.
This show was not afforded the title of 'WIPA' [Wiener Internationale Postwertzeichen-Ausstellung ]. Note: Exhibition had a commemorative postmark for this event, in chrome green! I think that this must be an example of the postmark on an exhibition postal slip. It is difficult to tell the colour after 112 years but under magnification, it does appear green, at least in the centre. Daniel

Very fitting today.
531 years ago, to this day ! (Australia Time)
Cristoforo Colombo The Fate of the Santa Maria The Santa Maria never left the "new world". She ran aground and became hopelessly stuck on Christmas Day 1492 on the island of Isla Espanola (modern-day Haiti). Columbus had the Santa Maria disassembled and used the timbers to build a fortress in what Columbus called La Navidad, the first Spanish settlement. Because of the loss of the Santa Maria, Columbus was forced to leave 39 men and supplies at La Navidad to await for his return.
