I have these cancels on some stamps. I think I have read what the cancel was ment for, but have forgot. Some might know?   |

Typically applied to ship mail received at a post office after the cutoff date for ordinary delivery to the ship. A fee for special delivery to the ship after this cut-off time. A terribly mutilated cover.
