I have been studying the De La Rue Green paper issues based on Peter Fernbank's book on the King George V Key Plates - "King George V Key Plates of the Imperium Postage and Revenue Design". Due to economic supply chain and other shortages, a number of variations in the Green Papers were produced at various times during the 1910 to early 1950's time period. Many of these are listed in the catalogs. I have been studying them for various countries. Yesterday, I was comparing some of the 50c on Green paper issues from the Perak 1938 set and realized that there are at least three different paper types. The Scott and Stanley Gibbons Catalogs lists only one option - Emerald. The Commonwealth Catalogue (Murray Payne) lists two options - Emerald and Green. However, as I was looking for a Green paper I noticed that I have a few that have an Olive back which is similar to other Green with Olive backs found in other Colonies' issues. Shown below is an image I made from two scans - one of the front and the second of the backs of the stamps. I found another Green issue after I scanned the back, which is why it is not in both scans. If you have any of these stamps from Perak, can you take a look and let me know what you observe on your stamps?
