Thanks. I hadn't realized there were still blurred images. After seeing all of Rod's and Frog's that had the "unavailable" image I had assumed that all was lost. I've found/replaced about 100 of cjd's thus far -- several were of Cinderellas so those may be some of the links you were referring to.

The print industry, at least in the U.S., defines a composite proof as being a color proof showing all of the final copy, graphics, type and color separations.
An ebay search for "composite photographic proof" returns well over 200 items, almost entirely being offered by the Indian seller alphaomegaphilately, and all appear to be printed in grayscale.

Finlandia 95 was a philatelic exhibition held in Helsinki, Finland May 10-15, 1995. Finland issued a number of products to promote the exhibition. Among them was this booklet, issued in 1993, containing a single pane with one label and five stamps depicting birds. The two 10p stamps in the top row feature a boreal owl (Scott 850). The bottom row includes two 2.30m stamps showing white-backed woodpeckers (Scott 859) and a 20p with common redstarts (Scott 850A). The booklet pane is identified by Scott as 859a. The outer cover The inside cover contains descriptions of the event in both Finnish and Swedish.

Kakadu, the largest national park in Australia (approx. 20,000 square kilometers), is Aboriginal land. Shown below is the 1993-4 wetlands conservation stamp, featuring Australian wood ducks, on a multi-part park use ticket with a Kakadu first day of issue cancellation dated July 1, 1993. The missing left marginal tab would have had the ticket number, C 04867, printed vertically with the tops of the letter and numbers being closest to the perforations.

Wetland habitats for ducks and other migratory waterfowl are under pressure worldwide. The U.S. Department of the Interior reported in a 1990 publication that over half of Australia's wetlands had vanished since European settlement in the 18th century. At the time of that report, the U.S. and Australia were cooperating to preserve and restore those resources. In 1989, Australia initiated its first duck stamp and established a wetlands conservation program within the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service (ANPWS). The Australian Wildlife Fund, a non-profit dedicated to funding conservation programs, sponsored the "First of Nation" Australian duck stamp. The stamp, featuring plumed whistling ducks, was designed by Dan Smith, the designer of the 1989-90 U.S. duck stamp (Scott RW56). Shown below is the 1990-91 ANPWS duck stamp featuring chestnut teals. The stamp was designed by Jim Hautman, the artist for the 1990-91 U.S. duck stamp (Scott RW57).

An essay is artwork that was officially proposed for the design of a stamp. Essays that were not adopted differ from the design that was issued. For example, these were the stamps issued for the 1962 games in Perth -- compare them with the essays shown on souvenir sheets 8 & 9.

While trying to do some Forum clean-up to eliminate posts that provide no value due to images that are no longer available, I came across this thread. The image that remains in the preceding post was obtained online -- another lost image has been deleted. What follows are images of the Australian Unadopted Essays souvenir sheets that I received from the original poster. The back of each sheet contains the following: SS#3 -- 150th Anniversary of the First Crossing of Blue Mountains SS #4 -- 1946 Stamp Design Competition for Postage Stamps SS #5 -- 1946 Stamp Design Competition for Postage Stamps

Having recently acquired the 1938 sheets at an outrageous price, I am now complete from 1937 to 1942. Given the plate numbers on the 1937 sheets, I don't believe there was a sheet associated with the 1936 exhibition.

Here is an example of the 2 cent carmine Washington "Cap on left "2"" (Scott 220a) on a cover postmarked June 20, 1894. The earliest documented use of this variety, per my 2017 Scott U.S. Specialized, was September 9, 1892. The flaw appeared on plates 235, 236, 246, 247 and 248.

In his excellent Cinderella Corner, Part 16: Acquisitions & Impressions (V4.2), Londonbus1 posed a question in the section pertaining to U.S. Exhibitions. Specifically, he asked: "So what might the Cicero-Berwyn S. B. Society mean?" I had asked myself that same question, given that the souvenir sheet he described, shown below in both perforated and imperforate form, is also included in my hometown collection. LB1's article prompted me to finally look into the matter and I believe I'm now able to answer his question. In reviewing old newspaper announcements online, I learned that the Cicero-Berwyn Philatelic Society and the Cicero-Berwyn Stamp Bourse Society were separate entities, with the former likely being comprised predominantly of collectors and the latter of dealers. I am assuming that the Philatelic Society deferred to the Stamp Bourse Society in 1941 by not holding its exhibition. Technically, this gap year should have resulted in the Philatelic Society dropping the word "Annual" from its Sixth Exhibition title--but that didn't happen. Further research is required; however, it will have to wait until the next time I'm in Cicero (Illinois) and able to visit the public library. If you haven't read Michael's article, I commend it to you. Following is the section which inspired this post.

Scott does not value these in unused, no gum condition. My point was that the absence of gum was not sufficient to characterize them as having been used. The valuation of those stamps would be less than that of the same stamps in unused, hinged condition -- less than $6.50 each (CV from the 2015 Classic Specialized).

This souvenir sheet, from the American Topical Association's convention and exhibition held in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, June 16-18, 1961 (TOPEX-61), recently arrived on a cover containing several additions for my hometown collection. TOPEX-61 was the 10th ATA convention and exhibition, and the second one held in Johnstown. Johnstown was the site of ATA's first National convention and exhibition held in 1952. At that event, there were just 4 dealers in the bourse, but 56 exhibits displayed in 249 (nine page) exhibition frames. The 1961 event had 82 exhibits in 366 exhibition frames and was also the site of the first day of issue ceremony for the 11-cent air lettersheet (Scott UC35).

Absent postmarks, I think you have to consider these as being unused, no gum.

Stan, This August 27th postmark, taken from the image you posted above on November 18th, confirms that the day appears to the right of the vertical line. I wish I could say with certainty what the "E" represented but I can't. All of the similar postmarks I've seen today only have the E with either a period, dash or nothing beneath it.

The letters between the hour/day and year are "JUIN" -- I believe the postmark is dated June 7, 1879. These images, pulled from the PhilaMercury site, show the day is shown to the right of the vertical line.

Scott has assigned the same catalog number to both the perf. 14 and imperf versions of the stamp, rather than assigning separate numbers for each variety.
