Not sure if I understand any of the comment on this thread. Unitrade has been my go to for Canadian Stamps since I started collecting. Seemed logical to have a Canadian publisher for Canadian content. One of the few instances where the Scott numbering system was used by a non Scott company. It will be interesting to see if a new publisher can be found. Can there be a profit potential for a publisher?

Generally I try to remove any thing “ plastic” and put paper in recycle bins. I am not sure if the paper is considered usable at all. Otherwise the paper with mounts end up in landfill. Yes, the paper will eventually decompose and the mount parts will be left behind. Landfills are expensive so I am hoping the paper I divert can be re used.

A few more proofs to add to my collection. The first on the left is a P4 in black on card stock. The one in the centre is a 12TC black on India paper. The block of 4 consists of two varieties of the specimen overprint on card stock. The Unitrade numbers of these would be P13i and P13ii . I do love thé six pense. When I am home and back into stamping I will post my summer purchases.

Just out of curiosity, I should like to ask the Forum community: Would you call my writing 'philatelic'? I think everyone agrees on that it's a very different kind of writing, and I have always felt that I am standing at the border ... I would say yes to your question. i find your perspective interesting and informative. I think we can all benefit from reading new perspectives. It encourages conversations and more new ideas. One of the reason I enjoy the Forum is the new ideas and thoughts that are introduced here. David

This is a tragic story of our past. My German ancestors Bauer/Bower left Germany to settle the lands that were vacated when the English expelled the Acadians. My ancestors instead made it to North Carolina. They only made it to Nova Scotia in 1783 after war of Independence. They settled in Shelburne Country.

Thanks Chris - completely forgot abut my old Post of 2021 !! I did not give V.C. away but sold it to dgdecker - I keep track of all auctions-sales-giveaways !! René. I have been adding to that collection. I managed to acquire many from philatelia Terri as well. I think I have about 400 in my inventory now. Very few duplicates. David

The last of this weeks arrivals are these proofs and trial colours. The block of four contains 2 Unitrade 8Pi and 2 8Pii. The singles include a 10TC (trial colour black); 11P and a 13P. What a nice group. I wish my budget support my “need” to have that “specimen “ overprint. David
