Presumably the Nos. showing on the 2c. sepia indicate the places of purchase, but I'm guessing, so very grateful if someone might have the time to put some flesh on the bones and give a little information on these, plus why the other stamps here show triple double lines without a No., and what we should make of the WARNING. I do believe pre cancels were use by companies that had large mailings and perhaps the use was more “ controlled “ by post office. I am new to collecting these stamps. There is a catalogue out there for pre cancels. I know it is not badly priced and I think I have a couple of copies. I will locate them and if you have questions send me a message and I will try to help you out. David

AGood way to get to the 50 post mark is to ask questions and greet new members as well. Show us your favourite stamps or samples of your collection. Add your thoughts to any post. The 50 mark will happen quicker than you think.

I have done it a few times. I do my best to get my hopes up too high. I sometimes think I see what I want to see. i always try to take it as a learning opportunity. I collect fir the pleasure, so value is not as important. To find a genuine “treasure “ would always be nice.

The issue dates matches what is listed on Colnect.com.
i agree with other who suggest a clerk forgot to change the date, or made a mistake in doing so.
Great little side storey and mystery.

I would be in heaven in your place. I love sorting and organizing projects like that. Though I work best when I have ample space. Please keep adding photos as you proceed. Quite the job ahead of you.

I wish they were a regular issue assigned a catalogue number as it was issued by Canada Post. I was given the set from an employee who knew I collected stamps. I am trying to find out how many were issued.

Newest arrival Unitrade 9TCiii on Indian card in the dark slate violet with SPECIMEN in red. i won this in an auction for $US20.00 A really good deal. I do not think the seller knew what this was. I had put in a bid for much more than the $20. After winning, I contacted the seller to offer a bit more. It was not advertised as a proof bit just as imperf pair. Seller declined my offer. He was surprised that I had even contacted him to suggest this. It is not often I worry about underpaying for something.

I think there had been an issue that came out featuring Black History month.
My copy has been long recycled.
