Beryllium Guy Thanks for the info. Yes that is the map location I found. I use Fire Fox and finally found their beta version called screenshots which seemed to work OK.

March 1, 1919 from Bjerge, Denmark Bjerge is so small I couldn't even find it on Google. Nevertheless, I did find it on a google map west of Copenhagen, but don't know how to pull images from the map.

I took a quick look at some of my Netherlands postmarks and noticed they all had roman numerals for the month, even on older ones, such as the one below. After being totally convinced, I then found this next one from November!!! (or is it really February? )

tempphilatelist The maybe "penny red" image you posted is actually from a later 1880 series. Stanley Gibbons gives it the number 166. The corner letters tell the positions on the sheet. Your stamp AH/HA is from the 8th row, 1st column of a large sheet of 240 stamps. Are you using an online catalog? www.stampworld.com/en/ is quite popular.

Scott O46...Feb 7, 1922 from Ratibor, Upper Silesia, now known as Racibórz, Poland The overprint C.G.H.S. is inverted, which is apparently a common occurrence for this issue.

I see I didn't elaborate beyond interest in cancels in the intro. I have been a WW collector for many years, but now am limiting myself primarily to Austria and Hungary in terms of collecting while spending most of my stamp time sorting and soaking for a local stamp club.

While on the subject of dual usage stamps, here is one I just found. A Guatamala Scott #61 overprinted to convert it into a telegraph stamp. Scott then mentions that some copies sold as this issue are telegraph stamps with the "telegraph" erased. Perhaps this one even was used postally? I do have Guatamala stamps with purple cancels.

Postage/revenue hybrid? I presume this is a postage stamp used as a revenue stamp. Do people collect these as a specialty?
