Here are some more of Yasser Arafat's propaganda labels. [see page 1].
Beautiful reproductions with a very fine overprint. A quality propaganda item if ever I saw one !!
This time overprinted 'Palestine Independence, November 16th 1988'.

Leathernecks refer to US Marines. Other indicators are the Bulldog, which is the mascot of the USMC and the insignia on the helmet which appears to be the USMC emblem, the Eagle, Globe and Anchor.

These labels were issued by the US Marines in the summer of 1942 and available to family and friends only. Printed Se-tenant in sheets of 20. In Abilene, Texas they were available from the Marine recruitment Office. One most likely needed some form of ID to obtain them. A wonderful idea and gesture.
God Bless America.

A beauty of a sheet depicting the overrun nations. Produced just before the USA stamp issue of 1943. Lovely Staehle-Dietz patriotic effort.
I have a couple more similar items which I will put in the 'Flags on Cinderellas' topical.

I didn't find anything on these Czech propaganda labels but they may belong to a larger set, possibly in the form of a se-tenant sheet ? Possibly an idea by the Czech Government-in-Exile given the Union Flag present ? I'll search some more when my eyes are not so weary..........

Possibly the reference to Czech Pilots who served in the RAF during the Battle of Britain ? "The Few" Czech Pilots gained a reputation for aggressive tactics. Brave young boys. (average age of the pilots 20 years old) Average life expectancy of a spitfire pilot : 4 weeks

On the day when Spitfires once again flew over the South of England, I can confirm that these are indeed British Poster stamps. They come from a se-tenant sheet of 6 designs but I have no information on how large the sheet was. They were issued in 1942. That's all I know at the moment. They were sold in the USA also by the Poster Stamp Publishing Company of Chicago and for 15c a set of 6 !!!!

For the Czechoslovakia propaganda labels, I found this reference ( www.czechout.org/large/100.pdf, see page 72-73), though it is not clear whether they were produced in the USA or elsewhere. It was a set of 6 designs se-tenant on a sheet.

Two things stuck out when I saw these at our local club..... 1. How could one boycott "NAZI PRODUCTS" during World War II but avoid boycotting GERMANY....? 2. Did the artist who designed these labels realize the swastika was reversed ? It should have clockwise hooks--or maybe it was intentional.

As a wartime fund-raising label, I assume this may have been sent to many countries of the Allies. As I mentioned earlier, they were sold in the USA [for 15c a set] and I have no doubt that the blue cancel [One cent] was used by the organization that sold them in Canada. Maybe there are cancels for other countries too ? !
[Does the One Cent cancel mean the labels were sold for that price in Canada] So much to figure out for one set of Cinderellas !!

Shown previously in this thread was a German Wartime Propaganda Label in the form of a 'disfigured' KGVI definitive. here is another with a 'Liquidation of an Empire' boxed overprint. Many countries were included in these labels and this one for Barbados with the usual fake 'London' cancel.
I found this in the Charing Cross Collectors Market, an unusual place to find such a gem. It pays to search in all corners for items you seek !!

War Effort based in Shanghai. Chinese War Fund Label which from what I have just seen during a quick search is rather special !! Not a brilliant copy but a soak and press should see it fine. Printed in sheets of 25, plain margins all round. This one was given to me from the collection of Anping by his widow Tina. So it has become rather special to me too.

Something from Ireland. Most of the covers I have seen have been loosely addressed to Price & Co a Dublin Stamp Company. The covers date from the early 60's but Price was still dealing into the 1990's because I remember getting a couple of orders from them. I wonder if these labels were also printed by them and are not actually propaganda ? They did sell some quite weird stuff so it's possible. Research ongoing when everyone leaves me alone......except you lot of course !!

Many U.S. stamp clubs engaged in "V for Victory" campaigns during World War II to support the purchase of war bonds and savings stamps. Following are some club labels to show support for these efforts.
The following snippet describes the origin of its use in "V for Victory: Celebrating a Gesture of Solidarity and Defiance," by Ben Cosgrove; Time.com; July 4, 2014.
Here, on the anniversary of the day—July 19, 1941—when Churchill first endorsed the "V for Victory" effort in a speech to his compatriots, LIFE.com celebrates the gesture as one of those unlikely strokes of genius that, while by their very nature symbolic, occasionally serve to unite and inspire millions. It's also worth noting, in passing, that employing the "V" sign as a gesture of defiance and solidarity was first suggested in January 1941 by the liberal Belgian politician, Victor de Laveleye. He encouraged the use of the symbol because V stood for both victoire ("victory" in French) and vrijheid ("freedom" in Dutch).
Finally, we should point out that when Churchill—the son of a British Lord and an American mother from a family of enormous wealth—first began using the V sign in public, he frequently held his hand with the knuckles facing outward, perhaps because he was so often clutching a cigar. His staff had to inform him that gesturing in that manner was the British working-class equivalent of flipping the bird. For the rest of the war, and the rest of his life, Churchill made sure that there could be no possible doubt about the message he meant to send with those two famous fingers.

And a couple more V for Victory sheets from Frederick H. Dietz and Ludwig Staehle. The first commemorating Columbus Day, 1942 with the V for Victory in the lower left corner and the 1942 Victory sheet issued to coincide with the issuance of the Win the War stamp of 1942, Sc. 905 As an aside and regarding the Columbus sheet, Native American groups have been protesting the celebration of Columbus Day as a holiday for several years now, claiming Christopher Columbus was responsible for European exploitation of indigenous populations in the Americas. In Oklahoma, the state in which I live, the state legislature passed a bill this year that the governor signed establishing Native American Day in the state on the same date as Columbus Day.
