For my first post here, i wish to show a cinderella, issued in 1919 to ask the newly created Nation's Society to support Catalonia's self-determination rights. This flag, that we call "la estelada" (the starred one) first appeared in Cuba in 1908, where a lot of Catalan immigrants supported the independence struggle of the island to break free from Spain. So, it seems that it was inspired on the indepence flags on Cuba and Puerto Rico; which perhaps came from Texa's "Lonely star" flag. Anyway, it's considered just "a fight flag", as an indepndent Catalonia, will hoist our traditional flag (coming from the XII century) that has just the four red stripes on a yellow field. We say "Les quatre barres de sang" (the four blood bars). This was the first appearance of this flag on a cinderella. More will follow on the forthcoming 100 years... At the foot, there's the tex "Free Catalonia"

On my first post i showed the first time that the Catalan starred flag apeared on a cinderella. Now, I'll show the latest that I know.
On December 2017 the pro-independence party Estat CatalĂ , issued two sheets of 12 cinderellas each one, showing some important (for us!) that took place in Catalonia and Brussels (belgium9 on late 2017. On some of the cinderellas, you can see the starred flag (on its two versions) and, in one, also the flags of a number of European nations: Ireland Britany, Scotland, Corsica, Sardinia, Scotland, Flandre, and the basque Country. That was to advertise the demonstration that took place in Brussels on December, 7th 2017

Is not that hard to find. It's fairly common. I know some people that has full sheets. Sometimes, on e-bay, they ask for huge sums, but is not worth that much. Let's wait until things settle a little and I'll see if I can find a copy for you.

The Basque flag ("Ikurriña" on their native language), was created on late XIX century from the Union Jack. This cinderella reproduces a 1937 "Airmail stamp" issued by the Basque governement.

The title of this 1933 cinderella says "Hoisting the Striped flag". It shows the hoisting of Catalan striped flag (four red stripes on a yellow/gold field) on the balcony of the recovered Catalan Parliament on Septemeber 1932. This image, has a tremendous symbolic power to us Catalans, as the Catalan Parliament was (and still is) housed in what it used to be an old Borbonic (Spanish) fortress, built by the Spanish to control Barcelona, after the fall of our city on their hands on September 1714, meaning the subjugation of Catalonia to that foreign hostile power.
After Franco's dictatorship hiatus (1939/1976), since 1977 that building located of the "Parc de la Ciutadella (Citadel's Park) houses again our Parliament I should state that Catalonia has a very long parlamentary tradition, dating from XI century.
Cinderella from the 1933 Catalonia Album.

It's a Delandre Poster Stamp from WW1 but I like the Flag design on this so it goes here ! In Walter Schmidt's 'Images of the Great War' this is numbered 213. The Infantry Regiments are listed first so the numbers correspond with the Regiment number until No.428. Designed by Camille Bellanger.

This cinderella, a work by Guido Pant, shows the Estonian Republic flag, hoisted on the Herman Pik tower of the Toompea Castle (Tallinn, Estonia). Printed in sheets of 12, unperforated, on February 8th 1991, but actually issued on the 24th. The date (in 1919) of the proclamation of the First Estoniam Republic. It was promoted by the Estonian Society for the Preservation of Historical Memory.
The colours: blue, black and white, are said to come from the ones of the Tartu university student's cap and the flag was first hoisted in the town of Otepaa.
These, were difficult times for the Baltics, after the fight on Lithuanian TV in Vilnius between Soviet KGB forces and Lithuanian patriots in January 1991.
The cinderella as issued

Three WW1 Poster Stamps from San Marino/Italy with Red Cross interest also. Each shows the Flags of San Marino which, with changes to the Coat of Arms, has been in use since the late 18th Century. They also show the Kingdom of Italy Flag which was in use up to 1946. Regular Italian Flags are in the ratio 2:3 while those of San Marino are 3:4.

I'm pretty sure that a single stamp like this has been shown before, possibly in another thread as it would fit equally well in South Africa or Patriotic topic. But here it is in the Flags !! I had never seen a full sheet, not that I can recall anyhow, so it was a pleasant surprise to not only find this, but win it. Sadly I had purchased some nice items from the same seller over 6 weeks ago and they never arrived. This one arrived within a few days ! South Africa WWII Patriotic label sheet promoting the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy. Showing the White and Red Ensigns together with the Flag of South Africa which was in use from 1928 to 1994 when they changed to their present offering. I can't think of many better Flags on Cinderellas on just one item !! It was too big for the scanner so this was the best I could do.

The sheet below was produced by New York Stamp & Cover dealer Frederick Dietz, one of many he produced during the War Years. Designed by Ludwig Wolfgang Staehle who was responsible for many USA and Irish First Day Covers as well as similar propaganda and patriotic items such as this sheet. From 1943, it shows the Flags of the Occupied Nations of Europe together with the year in which they were overrun. The Poster stamps are quite large.

An interesting trio of World War II propaganda Cinderellas. They all feature 'The Big 3'; the United Kingdom, USA and the USSR. The other 2 flags are for The Republic of China and Denmark.
The first stamp has V.J. in a circle in gold in the centre, Victory in Japan, 1945. The 15th August was the day of the official announcement of Japan's surrender and 2nd September was the day the official surrender document was signed and, officially, the end of the Second World War . The Republic of China flag is clearly relevant. Pre-Taiwan.
The second and larger stamp shows the Danish Flag and the Royal Air Force roundel in the centre. Denmark was liberated on 5th May 1945 by the British forces with the RAF playing an important role.
The third stamp, on thinner paper, seems to be an amalgamation showing all 5 flag. This begs the question, who issued these stamps?
