I labelled this scan as "Great Britain" then saw "Printed in Canada" on the Bulldog label. What about the other cachets? GB or Canada,or ? Thanks The "tank" cachet, is on a mutilated window envelope, would this perhaps be part of a Slogan Postmark? Rod: Here's a cover that proves the airplane cachet was of Canadian origin.

cindycan2Bravo! Ron. Superb "proving" cover. I wonder what the correct verbiage is ? Cachet? Meter Stamp? Meter Stamp Cachet? Timothy Eaton would have had the wherewithall to produce that Meter Die (70,000 employees) The design looks just a different at odd spots, perhaps a common die design, for all sorts of propaganda postal material. Maybe a design option, offered by Pitney Bowes with their postal meter business.

The booklet is pristine but I had to fold it open to show the first four stamps.

Nice find Mr Frog! The Nova Scotia picture stamps were issued in 1961 by the NS Travel Bureau, and were also printed as a sheet of 16 stamps.

(anyone esle think I should scan / post?) I thought I was editing the text I wanted in the quote. I made a boo boo Rod. Been busy listing stamps all afternoon. Been up since 4am walk the dog drive hour to work, held a training workshop and drove home for a doctors appointment. Then had to drive the wife to the emergency room her blood pressure was 60 over 40, so she is in hospital on a iv to rehydrate. Probally will pick her up in a few hours.
I think I should stay away from the keyboards, I think I having a Admin Bonk episode.

I would expect that the copyright to the stamp design would have belonged to the Canadian Youth Committee to Aid Spain, not the author of the 2011 catalog.

Western Canada airway CL40 western Canada airway jubilee CL 41 Unitrade Thank you Froggie. Found them. (1997 edtion of unitrade CV circa $5 ) Not listed in Scott. Just realised "The Field Guide" and "Unitrade" make fine siblings, both spiral bound, same format, sit nicely beside each other in the bookcase. I am fond of spiral bound catalogues.

According to Normand Caron's monograph "Quand la philatelie s'expose" about the cinderellas, souvenir sheets and commemorative covers issued by the UPM, the STOP sign in the gutters of the Cartier stamps were a tongue-in-cheek reference to the "traffic lights" colour dots that started appearing in the gutters of British stamps around that time. Here's what the full sheet looks like:

Not in the 1st edition of the Field Guide, but I do have a listing in the 2nd edition for these types of flags and coat of arms stamps that were meant to be added to stamp album pages (cc3862, cc3864). But the ones pictured are new to me.
