Part of a sheet. I don't know if French colonial collectors get as excited about minor plate flaws as those of, say, Saar, but on the middle stamp, 2nd row down, there is a glitch in one the top bar over the right 1f.  |

Sorry I am not ready to part with Ivory Coast covers. They are not easy to find. I am kinda hoping to do an exhibit on the French West Africa stamps of the 1916 vintage and their postal uses. As for singles, I am still sorting though them but I suspect it is terra incognita for plate flaws.

Congratulations Rene, renden for the collection. I have only Scott 16 and 20 , fake stamps and fake overprint. I understand Fournier also used genuine stamps which he overprinted. I don't have genuine Scott 16 and 20 stamps, but I think the fake overprint is well done. The gum on the mint stamps remains to be checked. It is a thick, brownish yellow gum and without exception (I mean my stamps) shows small cracks.    |

Before the Ivory Coast, there was Assinie, a French trading post. Thanks to yellow fever, there was not much activity, but there was a post office with its own mark, ASI on French Colonies stamps from Napoleon III's empire.
