France's airmail issue for 2019 (France is one of the few countries still issuing formal airmail stamps), celebrating 50 years since the first Concorde flight. The plane's profile on the stamp is embossed.

Another cover from Dortmund, Germany to Winterthür, Switzerland, this time featuring three aircraft-themed 1978 West German semi-postal stamps, postmarked 17 August 1978(?).

Rene, thanks for posting these, they are all very handsome covers. The Concorde, without doubt, has joined the ranks of the world's iconic aircraft. I note that my old SG's Collect Aircraft on Stamps published in the 1990s, already listed 77 countries that had issued stamps depicting the Concorde and that number has surely risen since then. My sense is that the covers your father collected in the '70s will become increasingly sought after as the years go by. My favorite of the covers you posted is the London-Singapore first flight showing the Concorde in what appears to be a landing configuration.
It is very generous of you to pass those covers on to other collectors. From reading your subsequent posts, it appears I can join the drawing pool for these covers by sending my contact information to you in a private email even though I lack the requisite 50 posts. I will do so before signing off on this visit to the forum.
Many thanks.
SH

My favorite of the covers you posted is the London-Singapore first flight showing the Concorde in what appears to be a landing configuration. And you would be correct. The nose of the aircraft is tilted down on landing, where as on take-off it is straight. Mike.

The latest new issue from UK celebrates the Harrier Jump Jet , the first successful STOL /VTOL fighter now 50 years old, but a fantastic development for Carrier aircraft from 1969.

The latest new issue from UK celebrates the Harrier Jump Jet , the first successful STOL /VTOL fighter now 50 years old, but a fantastic development for Carrier aircraft from 1969. Are these a brand new issue? I used to work on these in the Marine Corps, I did get to work on a few of the newer ones, but I worked on the old British ones for almost 6 years. Thanks for this picture. Mike.
