A recent souvenir sheet from Togo on the topic of forest protection. Could have been in the mushroom thread too, but the birds outside the stamps broke the tie:

World Penguin Day 2022 (April 25)! World Penguin Day is roughly the date that these amazing creatures begin thier annual, northward migration including those featured in this set of 2018 from the British Antarctic Territory,
Of the six types of penguins illustrated, two live exclusively on the Antarctic Continent (Emperor penguins and Adélie penguins), three live in both northern Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic islands (Chinstraps, Macaronis, and Gentoos), and one species of penguin resides exclusively in the sub-Antarctic (Kings).
Have fun and happy collecting!

Whilst the Gentoo penguin ( Pygoscelis papua) was the first to appear on a postage stamp, see some examples from the Falkland Islands KGV issues here. The tradition continues almost a hundred years later with Germany's release of this semi-postal for environmental protection and featuring an Emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri),
Many thanks to Roland ( cara ) for adding this stamp with its first-day cancel to my philatelic rookery...
Have fun and happy collecting!

The Greek Europa 2019 issues, on the theme of local birds: As is customary for these issues in Greece, they exist in two forms. The sheet stamps like above and as booklet stamps, in which case the top and bottom edges are imperforate.

One of my favorite discoveries so far in brightonpete’s bountiful giveaway of modern Great Britain commemoratives is this set of four stamps issued in 1980 to mark the 100th anniversary of the U.K.’s Wild Bird Protection Act. I believe these are SG 1109-1112, showing a Common Kingfisher, a White-Throated Dipper, a Eurasian Moorhen, and (my favorite) a pair of Yellow Wagtails. I love these designs, the contrast between the realistic birds and the abstracted backgrounds, and the vibrant colors. Apologies, as always, if any of these have been shared already.

Is the Penguin in the lower right? The larger ones are supposedly Killer Whales.
But the last two posts are in the wrong thread.
