PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY, 1994-5 The first issue for the PA arrived from the Bundesdruckerie in Berlin with the value in 'Mils' which went against the agreement signed by the PA, Israel and the USA. Mils was the currency of the British Mandate in Palestine after the fall of the Ottoman Empire and until the State of Israel was declared in May 1948. Stocks were overprinted/surcharged 'Fils' the currency of Jordan. What happened in the Interim can be found, I believe, under Palestinian Authority in the Middle East section. I have mis-placed my scan of the unoverprinted types but will endeavour to find it or make another in the coming hours/days. In the meantime.........'FILS' !!

NORTH KOREA. Issue from 1994. Printed in sheets of 20 with margins all round. Inscriptions in margins. I have not found the surcharge variety listed but do not have an Asian Catalogue. Online checks have drawn a blank. I purchased this at Stampex 2009.

The UAR issued two nice flags series: In 1964, for the Arab League meeting in Alexandria (YT#611-623). I'm just missing the Iraqi flag for a full set: And in 1969, for Africa Day (YT#746-786). Still missing quite a few of those though:

Four first class stamps make up the Cross of St.George on this World Cup issue from Great Britain in 2002. The Lion with Crown and Shield make up the Miniature sheet of 5 stamps. It was very popular as you can imagine.

One of my favourite Flag items is the 2004 Old Glory Prestige Booklet from the USA. Two lovely panes of stamps (albeit Self-Adhesive) and over 20 pages of history, pictures and superb information about the Flag itself. Printed by Ashton Potter, designed by Richard Sheaff of Arizona. First went on sale at the Mega Stamp Show in New York on April 3rd and nationwide the following day. Here is the cover, I will try to add the Stamp Pane and other pages over time.

SYRIA, 1994. Centenary of the International Olympic Committee. Interesting stamp celebrating the IOC Centenary. The Olympic Flag and a Greek Temple on a background of '100' with a value of 1700 Piastres !! The Olympic Flag shows 5 rings representing the Continents on a White Field. Nice design but rather poor printing.
