issued Sept.30th,1996; The 10 Rs. stamp shows the "Mauritius Pride". The Mauritius Pride is the only ship of all "ships on stamps" I own,I ever boarded.From Mauritius to Rodrigues and back again.The back-trip on the edge of a cyclone was the most exciting I ever had.

British Indian Ocean Territory Its first issue of stamps consisted of the overprints of the Seychelles, some of which were shown above. Later in 1968 it issued an original set showing Marine life. You can see its latest stamps here: biot.gov.io/ |
