In 1927, Denmark issued a set of stamps depicting a Caraval in full sail that were printed on paper with various colours and denominations. The same design and denominations were again re-issued in 1933 and these new engraved stamps have a background of cross-hatched lines, instead of the solid background of the previous typo-graphed stamps.
The stamps shown here are from the later 1933 set (Michel:DK 202III, Stanley Gibbons:DK 277b); 15 Øre, deep red and perforated 12¾ while those of the earlier 1927 were perf. 14 x 14½.
 
What I cannot find is reference for any of the issue with an overprint...

Thanks cjoprey ; that's perfect and the cancel date of 19-12-41, if I am reading it correctly, would corroborate the issue date. Will keep my eyes open for the other overprints on the same issue...
In the meantime, here is the same value from the 1927 set with the solid background from the typo-graphed printing
  15 Øre, (Michel:DK 168) deep red, perforated 14 x 14½ with watermark - 2 Multiple crosses

Man, there’s some beautiful stamps in this thread. I love stamps about any kind of transportation, but the ones showing warships and historic shops are some of my favorites. I’m sorry that I neglected this thread for so long. Thank you all for sharing these and keep them coming.
Now I gotta go look at threads about cars and planes.
