Sorry - have to ask an unrelated question - what happened to Frog? It says 'inactive' next to his name - anyone heard from him recently? Hope everything is ok? Thanks for your post, Michael ( mdroth). There was a bit of discussion about Frog not long ago in the Shout-Box, as it was his birthday on 14th April. Frog has been absent for more than a year now, and to the best of my knowledge, no one on TSF has been able to determine what has happened. A few of us have tried sending him email or calling his mobile phone, but none have succeeded, again, to my knowledge. We hope that whatever is going on that Frog and his family are all OK.

I ran the Aberdeen club Auction last night with 26 zoom participants + 4 postal bidders . Sold 80% of the lots for £270 and £37 commission to the club. While members had previously seen the lots as a PDF PowerPoint file, I improvised by projecting the images large onto the wall behind me as I was selling. It seemed to work quite successfully.
A fun evening with bidders holding up large paddle numbers until lots were sold. One member with a good sense of humour kept producing different versions of his bidder number 21 in various colours ....then at one point bidding as XXI before switching to binary 10101... it kept the humour going .
After about an hour I was so dry I need that pint of beer.

Finished working on Barbados last night and got it all entered into Colnect. Need to figure out what to look at next, but not sure I'll have any time over the next few days to do anything.

What year is your Scott edition? My copy is from 2016 and in that one, the Postal Fiscals stop at #AR101. After that, there's a footnote to tell you to look in the main section at #404A, etc. for the decimal issues (both watermarked and unwatermarked), so in the 2016 edition those stamps are only found in a single location in Scott's. Maybe your copy is older than mine and hadn't yet been edited into its current state - or maybe I have the old one, in which case I'm baffled as to why those stamps would have been added in to a second location! Ryan Mine is from 2009. Good to see they eventually fixed that! But why the switch to regular listings? Were these decimal issues used primarily for postage?

I just resurrected my Colnect account, so maybe this time it will click. I'll start by entering New Zealand, as I have lots of duplicates to trade away!

If you need any help just send me a PM at Colnect and I'll hopefully be able to help (though ATM about to head to sleep for the day. ..one of the drawbacks of working night shifts my schedule is backwards to everyone).

Sunny Saturday in OxfordWell, I have been doing a little virtual stamping this morning, going through some stamp images sent to me ages ago by René ( renden). And of course, the TSF Mystery Circuit Packet is also calling my name! But I think it's going to have to wait until later tonight or tomorrow. We have beautiful weather today: sunny with clear blue skies, temp is already 14C and will hit 16C (60F) later this afternoon. Here in England, we have learned never to take fine weather for granted. Too many chilly, overcast, and rainy days in general, to stay inside when it is so nice out. So, I am off to get cleaned up and ready for a long walk (3mi/5km each way) to a waterside pub with outdoor dining. We haven't eaten out in months, so this will be another nice change of pace. When I return home, I will probably go back to the Mystery Packet, sorting through material to replace what I have taken and then some, and then I will do the draw tomorrow to determine where the packet will go next. It's been great fun! Wonderful idea from Vince ( stanley64)! Last, but not least, a big shout-out of appreciation to PostmasterGS for the great post on the Kiautschou Provisionals.... fabulous stuff! Don't want to clutter up the thread with too many oohs and ahs, but it is a great historical account you have given, beautifully designed and executed pages, and of course, wonderful stamps. It makes my little Hagner sheet collection posts look pretty feeble.... I guess I need to think about upping my game! Stay stampy, all!

After finishing up Colnect tasks tonight (including finishing the separation of Switzerland Revenues from the Main Switzerland listings into their own new subsection - a new feature we are introducing to Colnect so that collectors who are not interested in Revenue stamps do not have to wade through the listings to find the postage stamps they are looking for, while providing much more flexibility to expand our revenue stamp listings and better organize them), I went back to work on laying out pages for the Canada Admirals issues. Have got the sheet and booklet stamps laid out, just need to work in the Coil Stamps and the perforate OHMS issues and then add some extra shade variations discussed in the excellent blog run by the owner of the Brixton Chrome stamp dealership : canadianphilately.blogspot.com/ an exccellent resource that goes beyond Unitrade in its discussion of variations. Have one more night off from work before it is back to the salt mines, so hoping to put the Admirals to rest. But for now need to head to the Post Office to ship out the 2015 Classic Specialized catalog that smauggie won in the raffle

ouch Pete!! I hope you don't have get too many of those I thought they only did that for rabies?(?) Every month! Crikey! And I've had the rabies series of shots... no more in the belly. I asked them to tell me when they were starting, as they move the needle up & down while injecting in the affected area, my calf. I gripped the table as I was lying there, fretting. The said they were ½ way done! Wow, no pain at all! They were good.

sigh... again I made an order at the APS Stamp Store. Not again? New Zealand and the DDR make up this order. I was about to buy the the last £sd definitive issue from 1960-1966, but thought I'd check the stockbook first. Phew, I already had it! I need to make up a want list of New Zealand now. But then I need to keep it updated! So many things to do when buying more and more!
It's a grey day out, but a high of 16, which means the park will be flooded with lots of people. I think I'll stay in and work on my NZ album pages instead!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

brightonpete - didn’t you mention that you’re resurrecting your Colnect account? Well, I gotta tell ya - best darn way to make a wantlist EVER! One list gives you all the different catalog numbers, pics, info and as long as you have a phone or tablet with you, you have all your lists on hand at a stamp show or wherever. Plus you can export to a spreadsheet easily. Very handy dandy!

Country name year cat. # (description if I feel like I need it) cat. # (description if I feel like I need it) cat. # (description if I feel like I need it)
etc...
Make it simple, and I don't need to click incessantly! I'll try, but...

Again, New Zealand and Scott's
I thought I'd add the ONE booklet pane of stamps of the 1970's definitives that Scott's has listed. But surely there are more than one! They list one pane of 3 x 1¢ stamps! APS Stamp Store has 3 different panes of 6. How many booklets/booklet panes are there, and why does Scott list ONE, when there are indeed more? Stanley Gibbons NZ catalogue is making its way to me. Then I'll see for sure.
Also, there are at least 2 overprints of the low values: 4¢ on 2-½¢ & 8¢ on 4¢. Are there any others? I can find the 4¢ in Scott's (#480 & 480a) but not the 8¢. And I just noticed the unwatermarked varieties list further down #'s 533-546. Why not lumped together like most definitive sets seem to be?
One thing about Scott's: they are VERY inconsistent. Hopefully SG does a MUCH better job of it!

Not much "seroius stamping" last two weeks, not even e-bay or Stamporama purchases and nothing received; just, some image uploading here. But, yesterday, despite unstable Spring weather in Barcelona, I cycled down to the Plaça Reial stamp market. There, I managed to buy 30 cinderellas, mainly from Catalonia, but two German or Austrian (sometimes, is difficult to tell!) also. Most of them are from a ca. 1930 Barcelona tourism set in two colours: sepia and dark-green. I ended with a number of redundant ones, that I'll eventually sell or trade, as the price was ok. I cycled back to home, somewhat wet, as there was some rain on my 20 minutes journey (Barcelona is a compact town, and I was using an electric bicycle!). As from today we'll be able to travel all around Catalonia, I'm planing to drive down to Reus (100 km South) to see what I can find there. That'll be on about two or three weeks. I'll tell you about...

Hey Stamp Forum Friends! Yesterday was stamp soaking day - I got caught up on the pile of stamps with heavy hinge remnants, Mail clippings and other stuff that gets thrown in the soak pile. I filled a bunch desert magic drying books so there was quite an accumulation. It feels like a bit of Christmas morning removing the dry, nicely pressed stamps from the drying books and filing them for later. I have most of my material waiting for attention in files by country with Oversized items on a nearby shelf. Sometimes the file might not get pulled out for a very long time and when I finally get around to giving that particular country some long overdue attention, I've often forgotten what was in there and they feel new once again. My drying books airing out after use to prevent moldy spots ... My files full of new material and various "stuff" ... happy stampin' everyone!

I spent a chunk of the evening sorting the Machins from vikingeck 's recent giveaway. Lots to add to my collection as I had little to start with. I just have to wonder, though, what exactly is the reason that Thomas Jefferson is hanging around with Queen Elizabeth?

Had a chance to work on Straits Settlements over the last few days. I didn't realize that some of the stamps are overprints from Malaya, so now I have to sort though that pile.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

So this image is just a partial look at what was dropped off today by a friend for me to look at. He buys estates and when there are stamps he gets me to look through them. It is all too new to interest me but I will organize it into lots for him for his MaxSold auctions. The lady was a hoarder and you would swear she robbed a post office. It is so sad to see people buying so much mint stuff as an investment knowing now you are lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar. Quick look and I suspect there is over 500.00 CDN face. It is all late 1990's. Lots of on paper used I will go through just in case. What may be more interesting are 3 envelopes full of 1960's era approvals from Elmont Stamp Co. of Elmont, NY. Seeing them makes me wonder if the poor dealer ever got paid for them. This is a view we are all familiar with. After a week of going through the big box of stuff from my friend I am down to the fun part, going through old approval sheets and envelopes of the previous owners duplicates. I find it to be very therapeutic. This is the only way I tend to add to my world wide collection now. I cut off at 1965 and mount in my 6 volumes of Scott International Albums. Serious buying I leave for my specialty field. There has not been much but I have found a few things. Nothing spectacular. The box had around $600.00 worth of 1990's era Canadian mint and lots of modern on paper. I have organized it into a couple lots with face value totaled for my friend to put in his MaxSold auction. I get to keep what I want for my time including some of the mint for postage. Happy stamping!

Received my 3rd order of stamps of AFRIQUE ÉQUATORIALE FRANÇAISE this morning for my french colonies in Africa project.
Will decide how far I go with the colonies under that administration - I do have stamps for Gabon, Middle Congo and Oubangui-Chari - Tchad but not enough to make decent pages !!

in the office next few days, so stamp activities are minimal- Trying to decide what country/stamps to make pages for next... lots of choices.
I did receive "Notice of Dispatch" this morning from Nordfrim that my Michel Germany in English has shipped!
Maybe when it arrives I tackle something to get Germany (and all it's parts) moving
