As you will see in my recent posts, I bit the bullet and started cataloguing my shoebox chock full of Canada booklets. I expect it will need more than one evening. More samples to come as they strike my fancy. Well, three full evenings and I'm about two-thirds done through that shoe box. Did I mention it's only the first box of several? Oh my!

I'm just waiting for mailings from the APS StampStore; Vancouver, BC; Belgium & Hungary. The postal strike is looming come Monday. I hope some makes it in tomorrow!
I've taken a break with the Machin's. They are confusing to me. I'll sort things out eventually. I better, as they are still on the dining room table. Good thing I live alone, else I would have answered to someone long ago!

I hope the postal strike doesn't mean renden has to wait long for his envelope of Egyptian stamps! Hopefully it gets there beforehand. Will all deliveries be stopped?

I started work on Australia with India the final one. I do not like tiny stamps. Tanzania had a bunch.

They are supposed to be rotating strikes, so... fingers crossed, everything will make it! If the rotating strikes start, it would be on Oct 22, Monday, 24 hour strikes here and there with service resumed the next day after the site strike 24 hour period www.canadapost.ca/web/en/comm/list.page?ecid=murl|ddn|lr|5

So my table is again covered with Adrimals.I spotted a large lot with a couple of those elusive corner stamps I need to complete my sheet reconstructions.Of interest you DO need to check the blue 10 cent issue for horizontal wove paper.Holding the stamp over the steaming spout of a tea kettle will determine this by which way it curls. After checking hundreds I finally ended up just buying one,but you may have better luck.Current CV$80 used.

As if I didn't have enough on my plate with those nasty Machin's! I just received my package from Magyar Posta - a decades worth of stamps. These are from 1960-1969. I am thinking of ordering the 70's as well. Here, below, is the first year, 1960. Literally 100's to go through... EDIT: Just purchased the 70's & 80's too!

Watermarks can be hard. Harder on used stamps with cancellations.

I received some more goodies in the mail, so some posts are upcoming. And Beryllium Guy told me I got lucky with the market stamp dealer in Aix today and that he picked up some nice things for me. I'm sure we'll get to post them soon.

well the indirect route today.I am helping wife redo the pantry and she has passed off the shelving units that previously held our canned and boxed food stuffs.Unfortuinately it means replacing the unit holding my main BNA collection and my mount storage. In short a real major redo of my stamp room and not much actual stamp time for a couple days. The end result will be worth it and give me 50% more shelf room. In the meantime the poor admirals sit in the middle of it all.

I received some more goodies in the mail, so some posts are upcoming. Well, all the new stuff from today is now safely tucked away in the stockbooks. Took longer than I expected because there were several instances where some re-arrangement was necessary... Back to cataloguing the Canadian booklets now!

I approached the job as a real job and now only have to move around lighting and re-organize the clutter at the back of my station. This back piece consists of an old headboard from a dated waterbed. The mirror reflects a lot of light and little cubbies come in handy as do the built in book shelves.

Well well, I won another lot in AllNations auction. A lot of 97 different Machin's with a CV of $120US for $14 Cdn! What a bargain! Part of it in the image below. EDIT: I just noted one lot of German stamps didn't go, so I asked to buy that as well. A bunch of mostly used recent stamps.

I finished mounting some used India stamps. The collection was mostly complete from 1955 to 1962. The collection had this block. It will go on my trade list. The final one is Ireland.

The stamp room is still a work in progress. The worst thing I have in my way right now is a large foil pan(think turkey roaster) of stamps awaiting soaking.Yes I buy that much!I had everything soaked off right up to the 1st of May.I do try to trim everything close but somehow it got to this point.Winter is going to be busy.I am also planning to do the usual page by page to mount stamps that were just stuck into the right page protector and make sure I finish numbering those that got left out from last time. The volume 1973-76 is the worst mess right now, going to need to make numerous new pages and re-mount quite a bit.Today is back at the new Bolivia project.

Now moving on to the second one, which contains larger items... Only took a few hours, this one. Mostly those prestige booklets brightonpete was railing against. They're thicker, so you can go faster. And not so many perforation variants. The next box is labelled "International envelopes", which should be UN and other covers. But that is for tomorrow. When I see something nice, I'll post!

The local auction yesterday was too much of a temptation and I could not resist three lots. Since I never set myself a budget I cannot bust it . There is a story to tell in my 'things I find in mixed lots' thread and 'The Falling Leaf' magazine has an article which I want to transcribe. Can't resist the urge, I am going back to the pile . Be Well All
