Not sure what was the motivation for this cancel at an elementary school just three days after the first-day of issue for Sc. 2620 in the U.S. Virgin Islands. A stamp show and exhibition, perhaps?

This lovely cover with its pictorial postmarks and cachet features a stamp showcased earlier on the Postmark Calendar 15 June, 2020 & 17 June, 2020.
It is the pictorial cancel though, commemorating both XXVIII SCAR and COMNAP XVI conferences, that includes the outline of a King Penguin that is likely to make any Penguins on Stamps Study Unit (POSSU) member's heart flutter...
Happy collecting!

A couple of pictorial cancels on covers from my Aircraft on Covers collection. The first commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, June 4, 2002, and the second celebrating Armed Forces Day, May 18, 2002. The Battle of Midway cover features a bold image of a Curtiss SB2C-3 Helldiver. The Helldiver was, indeed, a carrier-based scout/bomber, but it did not enter operational service until November 1943, over a year after the battle commemorated by the cancel. Still a nice Aircraft on Cover item, though.

A bevy of pictorial postmarks from the joint ESPAMER '75/EXFILMO '75 International Philatelic Exhibition held from October 11 to October 18, 1975, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Some diligent collector (not me!) managed to collect all of the pictorial cancels from the exhibition on 2 quadrilled album pages.

The inner page of a folder, commemorating the 1200th anniversary of Osnnabrück.
stamp and pictorial postmark enlarged
The front-page of the folder. The illustration is similar to the commemorative stamp. Unfortunately the picture shows the limits of my scanner:the golden print appears as as near to black.

I found this cover while rummaging my covers shoe box collection. Nice cancel, but it look strictly philatelic, a hand back, perhaps. Doesn't have the look of having gone through the mails. Addressed to a philatelic publication, it may have been a gift with a subscription. Details appreciated if anyone recognizes it.

On Catholic countries, the arkangel Saint Gabriel is considered the patron of Post and, by extension, of philately and stamps. So his day, September 29th, was call "The day of the stamp". On the 1970 decade it was a tradition in Barcelonato to celebrate a philatelic exhibition. On 1973, it was focused to pre-stmp postmarks and the commemorative postmark used showed the Catalan philatelist Pere Monge i Pineda (Barcelona, 1890-1965) who was a specialist on that subject.

A cover purchased for my Stamp Dealer Covers collection that includes a 1940 NYC World's Fair cancel with its iconic Trylon and Perisphere. The cover is a dealer-to-dealer item addressed to Frank Warner, (whose name is incorrectly spelled), a long-time dealer on Nassau Street.

A commercial cover with a Fort Worth, Texas, frontier centennial cancel. The centennial celebration ran from July18 - November 14, 1936 with many souvenir items produced, including the cinderella below. Kimbell Milling Company was owned by Kay Kimbell whose art collection and business fortune established the Kimbell Art Museum in present day Fort Worth.

This pictorial postmark was prepared for use at the Chicago Area Scout Show and is dated June 1, 1985. I previously showed the postmark on a different cover in the Scouts on Stamps thread. Last week, I added this cover to my hometown collection. I've been unable to identify the cachetmaker and am not certain if the cachet is original to the cover or an add-on. The cover's reverse bears a double circle stamp with the words "Postmark" and "U.S.A." at top and bottom of the outer circle and an image of a hand and forearm with postmark handstamp in the inner circle. Below the image is the annotation "5/5" in pencil. The 22 cent, perf. 11, Flag over Capitol stamp (Scott 2114) was issued March 29, 1985.

I have precious little information on this postmark, other than it was for the 100th anniversary of the death of Anton Bergmann who was a well known writer living in Lier, Belgium. The postmark is dated 6th April 1974 in Lier, and also appears to be on a maxicard with the stamp celebrating the same anniversary (Scott #B915):

It's almost Valentine's Day! Here in the U.S., there are a number of appropriately-named localities that offer pictorial postmarks for valentines around this time of year. Here's one from a Romeo, Michigan cover that I addressed to my wife this year... then requested back for my collection once it arrived back in the mail!

Hong Kong loves a good pictorial postmark! Every new series of stamps that gets released, they seem to have some sort of matching postmark. But I like this one that the General Post Office do for all mail dropped into this slot:
The iconic Star Ferry, which might be shut down if business doesn't pick up for them soon.

Here's a pretty pictorial postmark from Elm Grove, Wisconsin. It's part of the "Date Meets ZIP" genre of pictorials -- in this case, the date May 31, 2022 is written 5/31/22 in the U.S., which equates to the Elm Grove ZIP code of 53122. It's a really nice pictorial, and I appreciated that the local postmaster applied it both to the cover I submitted and to the self-addressed envelope in which it returned!

I made this cover for a recent pictorial postmark honoring the 50th annual Bentonia Blues Festival in Bentonia, Mississippi. The stamp is Scott 5698j, from the recent Mighty Misssissippi pane of 10 designs; this one shows a Misssissippi delta bayou. The ink and watercolor cachet celebrates the great Muddy Waters, one of my favorite blues musicians, born and raised in the delta. (He was technically born one county over from Bentonia in Issaquena County, and played a different style of blues, but that was close enough for my purposes.) Delighted with how this one turned out!

Sharing another new pictorial postmark cover. This one features a cachet by my six-year-old kid for the ZIP Day postmark offered by Culpeper, VA earlier this month (zip code 22701 = 22/7/01 = July 1, 2022). The cancellation was overinked and smudged the stamp, but it still makes me smile!
