Back on this day in 1976, I was in Winnipeg, Manitoba on my initial trades training, a fresh recruit in the military. Here is a cover marking a European Conference of International Personnel from the Post, Telegraph & Telephone. They used the 5 franc September 19, 1960 Europa issue for their cover... Today's covers celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Grand Duchess Charlotte taking the throne from her sister, Marie-Adélaïde. Seems to be an issue of sorts with dates. She took the crown on January 14, 1919, but they celebrated the day on the 15th. Two covers and a post card. The postcard also has the April 1, 1953 low value 80¢ Royal Wedding stamp added on. Michel: 601-603 / SG: 651-653 / Scott: 346-348 Michel: 601 / SG: 651 / Scott: 346 Michel: 601-603 / SG: 651-653 / Scott: 346-348 with Michel: 505 / SG: 563 / Scott: 286

Google Translate is having issues with this one. Here's a cover from February 16, 1981, using the May 18, 1978 stamp celebrating the 135th anniversary (1842-1977) of the Grand Ducal Military Band. (SG: 1007; Michel: 970; Scott: 613) The back of it has another stamp from the Rodange Philatelic Circle.

I like it a lot. It is interesting, that they wrote "thanks" in english for GB and for USA but "respect" or "honor" in russian and french (not thank you). A translation issue?

Here is another FDC that includes the above Telephone service stamp, along with the two other stamps issued in the series on the same day. Eight stamps in total were issued that day. The leftmost stamp shows the "Benz Vélo", for the centenary of the automobile, and the middle stamp is for the 50th anniversary of the Luxembourg Fencing Federation. SG: 1155, 1154, 1156; Michel: 1122,1121,1123; Scott: 725-727. Odd how the different catalogues decide which stamp comes first in their order of releases.
