Alex ( vikingeck), would you mind if I requested these? I would like to give them to Amy as a Christmas gift to add to her small stamp collection. She doesn't have any Christmas material, and I think she would like these. I will even say that they are from you, if you like! I am always happy to give credit where it is due. Many thanks, Chris

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I was working through Denmark in the old album this evening and came across this Cinderella/poster stamp from the Danish West Indies (Dansk Vestindien). My internet search found a mint full sheet that sold cheap at a Danish auction and a mint corner plate block that did very well. I like that this one appears to have travelled on a cover with a 1909 postmark. I keep saying I do not collect Cinderella's but this one is nice enough to keep I think.

Because of the design and large size it never even occurred to me that this was a Christmas Seal. I was thinking it was July 1909.

Jul 1916 Although this particular seal has been shown before, here is a nice corner strip of 4. The wording on the selvedge translates as '...Must be lifted up to the light of the people's love'.

The Danish-Scanian Association Christmas Seals 1976 I purchased this sheet because I particularly liked the image, not realising the full story behind the Association and the history of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Scania or Skåne in Swedish is located at the Southern tip of Sweden but was part of Demark until it was lost in 1658 under the Treaty of Roskilde after the Second Northern War. It was subsequently regained from 1676-1679 by Denmark during the Scanian War and again very briefly in 1711 but has remained undisputed as part of Sweden since 1720. The stamps depict Queen Margaret I who was Queen regnant of Denmark (from 1387), Norway (from 1388) and Sweden (from 1389) until her death in 1412.
