Whoops. forgot this last envelope (it looks like a dogs breakfast). Believe it or not it contained 2 packages of Showgard mounts.

The postman delivered this cover to the doorstep earlier in the week,
Front & Back - Registered packet from Egypt
The stamps are a recent issue from Egypt, Scott n.º 2135B and along with the image of Amenhotep Son of Hapu feature the security mark in the shape of star cut out from the the upper-left hand corner. Now the question is, to cut or keep intact -- hmmm?
I am not a collector of Egypt and I think these are the first stamps ever I have received from the country. Looking at the issues including the French Post Office in Alexandria (some real gems), the prospects of postal history from the area, a well established study group in the form of THE EGYPT STUDY CIRCLE and the fact that building a collection would not require a Pharaoh's ransom, it could be the next thing...
Happy collecting!

Nothing quite as fancy, but a nice cover just the same from Australia with the Red Kangaroo and Tasmanian Devil. I rather like Airmail etiquette!
Another cover for the box of covers I have been collecting for the past year or two.

This arrived in the mail from Taiwan today. No stamps inside or on the envelope, but a rather nice meter stamp. It housed a book on Canadian POW's in Taiwan during WWII under Japanese control. The postal clerk cringed and would never read it. It was a dreadful time in history.

This was yesterday, but with the goings on here I didn't have time to post then!
I love that 100th Anniversary of the Montreal Canadiens souvenir sheet of 3 $3 lenticular stamps was the main bulk of stamps on the box. He very nicely stuck them to a sheet of paper that was taped to the box, then applied the stamps on top of that. So thoughtful! And look at the speed of delivery! Sent on the 30th, received on the 31st!
It enclosed 303 maxi-cards from Liechtenstein. That will keep me busy for some time!

I just received an enveloppe from CP which was not damaged but the one thing I did not appreciated is the fact that Canada Post has destroyed the stamps by doing a pen cancel on all stamps. This was mailled from Station B in Victoria, BC. As a collector, I feel that this is almost a crime to do that. The fun of collecting is having a post mark on your enveloppe and see where its coming from and by which means it came over! I receive a lot of Philatelic mail and since the start of the Pandemic I have seen more and more of this type of cancels. Canada Post, please stop doing this!

Arrived Yesterday Germany to UK I wonder if in a hundred and fifty years people will be bidding on the equivalent of ebay then fiercely for this piece of frankly boring mail (I suppose the customs declaration due to Brexit may be of interest).

That is called a "Self-Inking" postmark, with the ability to ink in 2 colors. A great strike. There is likely a collecting microcosm in US postal history that collects these. They were quite popular when they first appeared. Today, more of a curiosity. If I were still doing shows, I'd put it in my misc cover box for a couple dollars.

What confuses me is the sender,s address on back of the envelope is in Italy? Could be cheaper to mail from Germany than Italy. There's a Dutch company I used to deal with, PostBeeld or something like that. They used German Post for their mail as well. I figured it was just cheaper. I noticed mailings in the Catawiki website had horrendous charges from Italy!

Three items of mail received this week. All showing hand-stamped postmarks of one kind or another. From Norwich (main post office), Queen's Drive (Swindon local post office) and Australia with UK postman/delivery office wavy line hand cancels. A good sign that much more effort is being made to properly cancel UK mail.

Totally agree ..however the Royal Mail will conveniently disregard certain facts i.e. Emma Raducanu was Born in Toronto in 2002 to a Chinese mother and Romanian father, she moved over to England when she was just two years old. The family settled in Bromley, Kent,England 16 years ago.

A very nice cover from our friend Chris Dorn (Beryllium Guy) in Oxford. I, specially appreciate the 2012 London Paralympic stamp, as I was with the Australian Paralympic team, back on the 1992 Barcelona Paralympic Games. Great people!

Thanks for showing the cover, Joan ( cursus), I am delighted to see that the stamps are actually postmarked! Most of the time these days, I queue up and ask the clerks at the PO to hand cancel the stamps for me, but on the day yours was mailed, it just went straight into the slot for processing.

Three get-well post-op cards in the post and an intriguing cover with interesting etiquette labels proclaiming “Posted in an Edward VIII postbox”. Cancelled in Southampton from my friend Chris Beryllium Guy. As I am not sufficiently mobile to tackle the stairs to my stamp space, I have no scanner or printer access so cannot display here .🙁
