Alex ( vikingeck ), great to see your post! No scanner? No problem (at least in this case)! I can help you out.... Cover posted from an Edward VIII pillar box at Green Lane, Isle of Wight, with Southampton, Portsmouth & IOW postmark Homemade Cinderella which was affixed to the reverse side of the cover At this point, I am considering this a bit of a failed experiment. I thought that I might get an interesting postmark or two out of the deal, but it hasn't turned out that way. I posted two covers from each of two different KEVIII post boxes on Isle of Wight, and one has yielded a rather bare postmark on a water-damaged cover (at least in my case), and the other got no postmark at all. It was one of those bright ideas that has turned out to be perhaps not so bright after all!

That’s very similar to the one you sent me but mine has additional slogan between the date stamp and rhe wavy cancel.
SEND A CARD. …… THINKING OF YOU WEEK , which is nice 😊

I received mine yesterday, so a Big Thank You to Chris, Beryllium Guy . Interestingly, as you can see, it received yet another postmark, this time with the slogan Together For Our Planet SME Climate Hub. Chris, note that the mail centre is Southampton, Portsmouth and IOW (merged about 6 years ago).

Chris, note that the mail centre is Southampton, Portsmouth and IOW (merged about 6 years ago). Well, thanks for your post, Daniel.... your cover was mailed from the KEVIII pillar box in Sandown, IOW. I am glad that you got a nicely postmarked example. Mine from Sandown has come back with no postmark at all, which is too bad. Thanks for pointing out about the merged mail centres. I wasn't able to read the IOW bit clearly on my cover's postmark, but I can see it now as it is much easier to read on yours. And Alex ( vikingeck ), glad to hear that yours sounds similar to Daniel's, too, with the added slogan. I also really like the SEND A CARD... THINKING OF YOU WEEK. Very nice, indeed! Well, perhaps my little experiment is not as much of a failure as I was starting to believe.

My writing is atrocious, which is why I use my label printer - much clearer for the posties to easily read!

Received the Osborne House cover today from Chris, Beryllium Guy . Many thanks. It received the same postmark as the Edward VIII Postbox cover shown above but has an Osborne House cachet and a small Osborne pictorial rubber stamp on the front. On the back, Chris has used yet another one of his triangle stamps, this time a Queen Victoria VR Osborne House version. Chris has managed to get this officially postmarked at East Cowes Post Office.

In this week's post, I found this envelope in the mailbox,
Nicely cancelled and showing two Plate Number Coil (PNC) strips of 5 stamps each:
1985 22c Flag Over Capitol (Scott 2115) Plate n.º 2 & 1982 2c Locomotive, 1870s from the Transportation Series (Scott 1897A) Plate n.º 10
The contents, the same; a number of strips as I continue to build out my collection of USA Transportation Coils PNCs...
Happy collecting!

You are very inventive.

The $1 Patrick Henry from 1954 Liberty series is listed at $7.00 unused from Mystic Stamp (Scott catalog $5.25). I guess the dealer does not know the value of stamps or maybe he does!

I guess Mystic is hoping that its customers don't know the value of stamps, either.

It could also be a damaged or hinged copy, deemed not worth keeping in a collection.
I note that the perforation teeth appear trimmed on the left.

I'm still waiting to receive my first ENERGY ACTION MONTH slogan in the mail. In the meantime, to celebrate I guess I need to put all my energy into action and leave all my lights on?

Letter from Brasil. It contained just 3 used Swiss stamps, one of which much needed for my collection: the 30 cent stamp of the 1939 exhibition (Italian language)

shame! With a customs declaration it has obviously been handed over a Post Office counter and the clerk should have cancelled the stamps with a counter date stamp . That is what would happen at my office!

This is an unusual item. The item was mailed inside a clear sealed plastic sleeve (shown in sleeve). The address encoding was applied via a label. The stamps were obviously not cancelled and no signs they tried to cancel the mailing. The mailing was a single piece (no envelope) fold out brochure ...like a greeting card. T

Not a late use of the 1850s Penny red but the modern Exhibition Commemorative version . Nicely cancelled with an OXFORD counter date stamp and no other messy interference and a spectacular Christmas edition Cape Triangle on the reverse! Thanks very much Beryllium Guy !

My order arrived yesterday from Vista Stamps in Quebec, complete with the ubiquitous pen scrawl for a cancel!
They must have been smoking pot when the put the stamps on the envelope!

This arrived in my mailbox today. It contained a pretty MNH set from Botswana that relates to my new topical collection. To me it was a bit of overkill to send the 4-stamp set in a cardboard mailer like this and I know they cost extra to mail because they are non-machinable so I am still puzzling why the seller would mail these stamps this way. But even weirder is the fact that the mailer came postage due! I have never received anything postage due and it also came with a small envelope with postage due .30c marked on it in black marker with the implication that I am supposed to pay this extra .30c for something the seller had mailed...obviously at an incorrect rate. I guess my question is, if it is postage due, why am I expected to pay the extra .30c rather than the seller/sender? Also, why did the postman leave the item being mailed in my mailbox even though he was unable to collect the postage due in person? What if I don't pay it? Anyway, it makes great postal history!

darkormex your option was to refuse the item and have it returned to sender. Not much of an option I know. You can always ask the seller to refund part of your payment at least enough to cover the postage due.

You might as well ignore it all, there is no proof that delivery has taken place, no signature on delivery.
If the 30c of postage due is not paid, I think the postman will have to pay it.
However, I believe that it is always the recipient who has to pay in case of incorrect postage, but the postman should never leave the mail if postage due is not paid.
The postman delivered without cashing perhaps in consideration of the low amount ..?
Obviously mine are just assumptions not knowing the American system.
