Yay! That planets booklet pane arrived in good condition! It's a bit special as it is the philatelic UNFOLDED version, so you'll have an unusual postally used copy. Cool beans, eh? mberry

This lovely cover from Israel found its way to the letterbox this week, Posted 08 August 2023, Haifa, Israel and received 18 August 2023, Nadadouro, Portugal. Total travel time - 11 days
As the contents were a set of Falkland Islands Airmail Postcard stamps from the 2014 issue, I was curious to know if any zoos in Israel kept any penguin species as part of their collections. I would learn that the Tisch family Biblical Zoo in Jeresulam does in fact keep a flock of African ( Spheniscus demersus) pengiuns - www.jerusalemzoo.org/animals-en/african-penguin
Who knew...
Have fun and happy collecting!!

Not often do I get a neat and tidy cover in the mail such as this one from Croatia which makes it more unusual to me:

Not sure whether this belongs just in this thread or might get wider coverage in a thread relating to eBay problems, or even simply in the thread about bogus Cinderellas…….. I won the three US bogus Army Franks on eBay but the seller was signed up to the Global Shipping programme which indicated $17.90 charge to send to the UK .He “didn’t know how to amend the invoice for regular postage “ so I called in a favour from my friend Chris Beryllium Guy with a US address as intermediary . Thanks Chris for receiving c/o , repacking and forwarding . Safe arrival today!.I owe you $1.50 it seems!
a roundabout route from FL to CA then lots more airmiles to UK. The Global Shipping program is nonsense for a small letter.

I received the scanned stamps this morning from 2 eBay purchases. One envelope not cancelled & the other nicely cancelled with a Heart Foundation slogan. The recorded signed for stamps are without codes therefor they were issued in 2009 & sold in 2010. SG u3045 & U3046. The 4d greenish blue cylinder blocks are Waddington printings with 1 Questa printing. The Waddington's were printed in 1980 or 1981. The Questa printed block was printed in 1986 (plate 1) on phosphorised paper.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Always fun when stamp dealers use old stamps. This one arrived today with a few eBay wins. Just as exciting was a letter from Ontario Health advising me that my colon cancer test result came back as normal. It is never too soon to be taking this test.

Received the scanned envelopes & stamps this morning. The "Smilers sheet" is from 2001 which I missed when it was issued, (easily missed due to a text description only in the SG Concise catalogue) SG LS5 3rd July 2001. The 1st Large Machin is a forgery with M22L MBIL codes. The 10p (looking left to right) is 10/12/19 with inset right band Deegam 100.26.4a, 10p 16/3/21 M21L ON Security backing paper 2i Deegam 100.26.6, 5p 19/2/19 Short band error Deegam 50.22.4a, 5p 15/4/19 M19L on security backing paper 2i Deegam 50.22.4 5p 19/2/19 from counter sheets with inset left band & interrupted bands at its base Deegam 50.22.4b

So I came back from vacation and was welcomed by this stamped envelope that carried some stamps I had ordered (US stamps from Hungary). What fascinated me was that the 40 and the two 500's are not listed in my 2023 Scotts catalogue or given a Scott related number in Colnect. They have a Mi number but not Scott's. Now perhaps these stamps are just that new (2022+) that Scott hasn't given them a number yet. Does anyone know? And if so, please let me know.

The 40 forint is Scott 4465 and the 500 is 4469. Page 181, top left corner in my 2023 set of Scott Hungary pages. The listing that includes the 5 forint includes pointers to the other sets in the series.

I don't recall previously making an order from Luxembourg. A scouting stamp from 2007 and a vended postage stamp.

I am a worldwide collector and there are some postal entities that I am short on. One of these is the Confederate States of America. Now when buying such stamps (especially those that have not been certified) one really doesn't know whether they are forgeries or not, so I tend not to invest a lot in them. Yesterday one of them arrived, via Slovakia, a pretty faded copy of CSA #14. It is what it is and it is my first Confederate stamp. I also get a bonus stamped envelope with a couple of Scott #864 celebrating Stamp Day.

Yesterday I received a package from the APS Stampstore. I had never done business with them before, but was looking to fill some spots in my Canal Zone collection. Well, they came through with a professional and speedy service, and excellent packaging. I will look to them again with confidence. Here are some of what I received.

That is so sad and probably worse than the marker monkeys. It appears it was stuck for a few seconds. Luckily it did not get torn.

At least the 2F stamp bottom right doesn't look too badly inked, shame about the others.

Today just got better……… I did a Covid test and the red line was so faint I almost couldn’t see it. Then the mail brought a dozen happy smiles from Florida ….. thank you Terri philatelia for bringing sunshine 🌞 the only other letter apart from the usual junk flyers had a Terry Pratchett ( Nanny Ogg) stamp as well !

Another advertising booklet from Royal Mail sent to me. I think the magic has gone from Harry Potter stamps, or is it a ploy to encourage collectors who have the Queen Elizabeth versions to buy these, that is if the rumours are true that lots of collectors stopped collecting GB when Q.E.II passed.

Today I was surprised to receive a heart-warming card from Russia, sent in late August, through Postcrossing. Canada Post has suspended all mail delivery to Russia (a decision which I don't agree with), so it's quite nice to be getting something like this during the war time. Also through Postcrossing, I got a request to send something to someone from my home base in Canada. The person included a coupon 'IRC' that can be used to redeemed minimum postage for a regular airmail. This is the first time I saw such a thing in my life! Does anyone here have experience exchanging this coupon at your country's post office?

Hi Linda , We have a whole thread dedicated to IRCs. If you do end up using this one at the post office, please tell us how it went! And, since it does not (yet) contain an image of a Japanese IRC, feel free to cross-post it there!

Today came two letters from Moscow. With the navigator Lisyansky and helicopters of 2008 with a new overprint of 2023. The second letter from Lugansk. The contract is dedicated to the second international forum on the conservation of the tiger, which was held in Vladivostok in 2022.
