Sc#190 Cartier Does this Postmark attract a descriptor? (Parcel?) This one Toronto #93 That's a roller cancellation. Those roller wheels were quite small and they repeat the image frequently. Even on the narrow side of a small definitive, you can see "Toronto" twice. Here's an image nabbed from the Grosvenor Philatelic Auctions site that shows an older use of a roller cancellation. Ryan

Right. Thank you Ryan. Being as London Station displays #1, I'd guess the numeral refers to the Roller device at the location, and not the location of the postmark.

I actually have a small collection of these roller cancels. Most of the time, there is a number but I have seen blanks. There is a handbook on these, possibly more than one.

Flyspecking some Canada and also trying out the new scanner software. I'm also using the new Windows 10 and new Photoshop App for cropping, straightening and editing. It's a new way but it seems nicer. I need more practice though. These are more recent acquisitions. The E3 is one of my favorite Canadian stamps. The E4 isn't too shabby either.

The extra copies of the values on my Jubilees are color/shade differences. These are my general collection stamps. My re-entry collection is housed in many three ring binders on home made pages and are separate from my general collection. That being said I do have a re-entry piece of the 20 cent Jubilee. It is a proof pair the left stamp in the pair is 59Piv 20c Deep Vermilion on card. The re-entry is in the Crown & P of POSTAGE from position 8 of the pane.
Enlarged image of position 8 showing the re-entry better:

This is nothing fancy. Just an old ratty-looking cover mailed from Ottawa July 18, 1862 to Carleton Place. It took 3 days to get there. So cool that 147 years ago, someone sent a letter out. No letters today will be around for long now.
I should add that my avatar is the error colour of Grand Duke Adolphe (Scott #62a) - brown vice orange. He is the cause of a thinning of my bank account in the collecting of Luxembourg's stamps.

As for other favourites, this one is it. Isn't it just about everyone else's? I bought this while stationed in Summerside PEI from a dealer in Halifax, probably in 1978 for $150. Still worth $150, so it is good I collect for the heckuvit, and not as investment!

OK, my suspicion about your avatar upon which I commented is in the other thread, but you have already mentioned it here. Sorry I missed this earlier post!

After going through all these wonderful pages of classic Canada Stamps, I decided not to post my Canada # 7 bought and received today. It is shown in various clips by "experts" like jimjung and watermark ...and al , met on another Forum and members here I have seen a lot of Canada # 15 but I think my specimen deserves to be shown, a Mint H Fine specimen René

Here is a nice cover with a pair of #15 5c beaver stamps. The pair is positions 49 and 50 state 3a. Position 50 shows the "log in waterfall" variety.

Reading through this thread has motivated me to pull out my old Harris Canada album and start working on it. I haven’t really done anything with it for about 10 years as I have been focusing on other areas.
