Here is this pair yet again, the last for 1984, also issued December 10, 1984, Scott 799-800.
I'd add that the Liechtenstein Post wasn't very imaginative with these cards! All the card designs were taken directly from the stamps. It would have been nice had they added something else to these cards that was somehow related. If you were to ask me, I'd say these are boring!
And that yellow! It brightened up somehow from previous posts. I'll have to change that!
That's it for this year - see y'all next year!

I missed yesterday, so here's 2 more to make up for that.
The 40th anniversary of the National Red Cross was issued June 10, 1985, Scott 813-815 and the State Visit of Pope John Paul II was celebrated with a souvenir sheet, issued February 2, 1985 if you believe Scott! It was issued September 2, 1985! Scott 816a, b, c. Wake up and smell the coffee, Scott/Amos!

December 9, 1985 was a busy day at the Liechtenstein post office! They made up for just a couple issue in this year by having three issues today. First it was Christmas, then a trio for the 15th anniversary of the Kirchplatz Theatre, Scott 823-825. Lastly there is yet another trio, this time of weapon's from the Prince's armoury, Scott 826-828.

With only one card for the last entry, here is the next card set, a continuing series showing views of Vaduz Castle. I suppose being such a small principality, there isn't much to choose from for subjects of stamps. Issued March 10, 1986, Scott 832, 835 and 840

Today's card features Nicholas von der Flue (1417-1487), canonized in 1947. Issued March 9, 1987, Scott 863.
I ruminated back at the beginning of this thread that I just might start collecting Liechtenstein. True, they do have a modest policy for new issues, which makes it affordable. But with stamps like this? I've seen a number of their stamps that just don't excite me in any way - pass on Liechtenstein. Iceland is in the same vein - their stamps before 1930 have no interest whatsoever for me. My collection really takes off with the Geysers of 1938. Other countries are the same, but with their modern offerings, where values and numbers issued increased dramatically.
To each their own!
Peter

All I have is Scott's 2009 for the world, and it seem's they missed something. Here is a pair showing views of Vaduz Castle with the Inner Gate on the 90rp and Inner Courtyard on the 1.40fr. Issued March 9, 1987, Scott's: MIA.
Have they added this pair in subsequent issues? They must have after all these years!

You missed the tendency of Scott to put stamps of a series, issued at different dates, into one set. Scott 2009 lists the 90 Rappen as no.838 and the 1.40 Franken as no.841.

I hate when they do that! I should have known that, since I just did the first ones a short time ago. My brain is a sieve!
Thanks for pointing that out to me, salentin!

I agree,to me it is also a weak point with Scott.Another problem is,that they show so few illustrations. In this case just the 20 Rappen stamp only. I like it more as Michel does: They list the stamps mostly chronological, - at least in the last fifty years - and put a footnote to each part of a series, noting the other stampsĀ“cat.nos.And of course, they show illustrations of all stamps,of Europe and solid other countries worldwide,if they show a different design . But then,if you want a cheap catalogue,Scott is O.K. It is the same as with cars,if you want a Mercedes (Michel), you will have to pay the price !

Fish is the topic for today, with the Bullhead on the 50rp, Brook Trout on the 90rp (mmm, my favourite of the lot!) and the Grayling is on the 1.10fr stamp. The letters seem to be swimming above the fish. Issued June 9, 1987, Scott 865-867.

Views of the Liechtenstein City Palace in Vienna are todays subject. Issued September 7, 1987, Scott 868-870.
Would dorincard not agree that there is finally a real maxi-card? The 35rp card shows a different view from that on the stamp!

Yes I would, in my magnanimity. However, there are some hardcore purists who would object, in their animosity, that the postcards are not pre-existent in rapport with the stamps.
I see their point, but it's a narrow scope [did I say minded?] point. Maximaphily would blossom without such "rules".
