I'm already finished the 2nd pile of cards! I did what I thought was the next, but it wasn't, this one is next. But it is out of sequence as taking a quick glance, I thought once had a value of 70rp, not 1.70fr. Both were issued on September 7, 1987, and both more closely represent the official description of what a maxi-card is.
The 1.70fr celebrates 125 years of Parliament, and shows the Manuscript Charter of the Constitution on 1862. Scott 872.
The 1.40fr celebrates the 275th anniversary of the transfer of the the County of Vaduz to the Princes of Liechtenstein, showing the Arms and signatures. Scott 871

I love these 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic stamps! What a hoot! Can you imagine zipping down the bobsled track in something like that? *LOL* Apparently they did, years ago. Now that would be scary! Issued December 7, 1987, Scott 877-879.

The first issue of 1988 was Europa, with the theme of transportation and communications. Issued March 7, 1988, Scott 880-881. Another nice set in my eyes.
Also on this issue, they stated adding some graphic images to the envelope. Here is the Europa envelope...
The image is embossed, and they seem to be calling these cards "Official FDC"'s. Huh? I dunno about that!

(P.S.: as with all our local image host images, right-click on the image and open it in a new tab. Then you can click on that to get the full size as uploaded. Better than the other way IYAM!)

Another nice set, the European Countryside (Rural) Campaign, balancing nature conservation with development. This set highlights agriculture, town centres and traffic planning. Issued March 7, 1988, Scott 882-884.

The railway card is not a concordant maxicard, unless you do a stretch. Such a stretch would leave stretchmarks... The classic electric locomotive from the postcard is quite different from the electric "maglev" (magnetic levitation) locomotive on the stamp. This is an ulterior (loco)motive, more modern. Pun intended, as always. The first issue of 1988 was Europa, with the theme of transportation and communications. Issued March 7, 1988, Scott 880-881. Another nice set in my eyes.

The three Princes of Liechtenstein souvenir sheet, and the Succession to the Throne (Thronfolge.) The present ruler in the centre, Prince Franz Josef II. I presume his son to the left, Crown Prince Hans Adam and his grandson to the right, Prince Alois. The top of the sheet displays the Prince's coronet and ornaments. Issued June 6, 1988, Scott 885 (a, c, b: as depicted L-R on the sheet)
It seems like they were occupied with the year on numbering the envelope and called this one 88. They covered up 88 with a cross-hatching and added 82 beside that. The graphic image on the envelope is odd, considering the royalty inside...
A bull scratching himself against a tree? What message does this say?

The 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul, South Korea is the subject of today's issue. Cycling, Gymnastics, Running and equestrian sports are featured on this amusing set. Issued September 5, 1988, Scott 888-891.
Oddly enough, here is the graphic image on the envelope for these cards...
Oddly enough once again, the set featuring the cultural co-operation with Costa Rica is missing. I guess someone was asleep when it was issued! I wonder why they passed on this set.

On the discus-thrower they (pudibondly) missed on organ, at first "glans". "The name is Bond. Pudibond."
At second glance, they misplaced a toe, on the wrong foot.

The last numbered card for 1988 is missing 2 stamps. This 2fr stamp is a portrait of Marie-Therese de Lamballe in a painting titled "The Letter" by Anton Hickel (1745-1798.) Issued December 5, 1988, Scott 900 (898-899 missing.)
There is a note on the envelope that there are no cards issued for the 50 and 90rp stamps. Perhaps with these two showing details of the painting on the 2fr stamp, they thought there was no need. I think otherwise, but who am I? They could have, at the very least, added the 2 other stamps on this card!
Also, why is the Sarajevo 1984 emblem on the envelope of this issue? Their additional graphic images on the envelopes make no sense to me!

Europa 1989 theme is Children's Games. Here we have kids playing "Cat and Mouse" on the 50rp, and "Stöckleverband" whatever that is, on the 90rp. Apparently, Scott's had no idea either! Issued March 6, 1989, Scott 901-902.
Stöckleverband seems to be a variant of "Catch the Flag," although no flag or banner is pictured on the stamp, but it sounds like a fun game!

150th birth anniversary of Josef Gabriel Rheinberger (1839-1901) was a Liechtensteiner organist and composer, resident in Germany for most of his life. He died in 1901 in Munich, and was buried in the Alter SĂ¼dfriedhof. His grave was destroyed during World War II, and his remains were moved to his home town of Vaduz in 1950.
Today Rheinberger is remembered above all for his elaborate and challenging organ compositions; these include two concertos, 20 sonatas in 20 different keys (of a projected set of 24 sonatas in all the keys), 22 trios, and 36 solo pieces. His organ sonatas were once declared to be... Issued March 6, 1989, Scott 903.

WWF (World Wildlife Fund) issue for Small Fauna. Why does Scott's only list the Latin name? Issued June 5, 1989, Scott 907-910.
25rp: Little Ringed Plover 35rp: Tree Frog 50rp: Owly Sulphur (owlfly) 90rp: Polecat
Once again, more issues are missing. No cards were issued for the fish or mountain series. Scott 904-906 and 911-914. Why were cards not issued for some series, and some cards just one of the set?

In the "not quite so" category, a souvenir card for the 8th Liechtenstein Philatelic Exhibition, LIBA 1972. The card features the Scott #505 souvenir sheet on an intaglio-printed card with the show cancel of August 18-27, 1972. The first day of issue for the souvenir sheet was June 8, 1972. There is no printing on the back side of the card.

MAXIMUM-KARTEN NR. 96 Benjamin Steck (1902-1981) paintings of still life. Issued June 5, 1990, Scott 942-944.
50rp: Tureen, Oranges and Grapes. 80rp: Apples and Pewter Bowl 1.50fr: Basket, Apples, Cherries and Pewter Jug
A quick search DuckDuckGo brought nothing of this painter, although a couple options down the first page had a link to Joe Biden! What? Search engines eh? More missing issues for football and mountains! These cards are numbered in sequence. I should have added the number from #1. 96... almost to the end of what I have!

Hunting, second in the series. This one depicting birds: pheasant, blackcock and mallard. Issued September 3, 1990,Scott 945-947.
Another series, this one is properly listed chronologically. Why can't they all be like that? Inconsistencies reign in the Amos/Scott world!
