I'm not a U.S. guy, although I guess I better brush up on them soon.If your confident in your identification I'd probably leave it at that.If you happen to a stamp browse I'm sure someone there would be glad to verify your I.D. Your stamps shown are like most of mine less than perfect and spending money on certs just adds cost to a stamp you will never recover back ever. Mom has willed her U.S. to me and it somewhat scares me to delve into an area I haven't looked at seriously in over forty years. She has been at it over eighty years.I help with her U.S. but it is usually just to fetch her albums or cut a mount for her.

I took my kids to a bee keeping demonstration but became the hit of the show when the bee keeper saw me "petting" his bees.He asked how I learned to do that and i explained that the bees collected pollen on their hair and I realized they enjoyed having the "fur" ruffled.Even my young children were stroking the bees just as I taught them.Sadly I am allergic to some bees so must be careful.

It comes down to each to their own.If you want the classy look plan on spending a bit for that look.My albums look like the fore mentioned training annuals for sure but I'm constantly in them physically. Any d-ring binder works for me and I've been known to use yard sale binders.I spend my stamp budget on stamps and try to cheap the other supplies. The best move I ever made was page protectors which allow me to remove the page to mount new additions or just inspect them without actually opening the rings. I believe the most expensive part of my supplies are the mounts and paper.I have found that buying larger lots of assorted mounts is the best way to have the widest variety of sizes on hand at the lowest price.I also reuse as many mounts as possible with dollar store glue sticks. The point of it all is to make yourself happy.I for one find it annoying when someone tells me I can't do it my way, like they are the all knowing beings.

Thanks for the correction jimjung.A very good reason to post examples of this simple print variety, even I took it as a re-entry til last year. Most collectors having never encountered this would think the same, and obviously even a dealer or two.Information makes us wiser every day.

I have been known to soak off all these I've found buying old album pages. Not sure at the moment where these bits may be stashed. When you consider I've recently seen whole sets offered for couple bucks I question my sanity.....but then crazy is fun.

Thanks for the info. jimjung, I'll bookmark the flyspecker and BNAPS links.Ralph's site is already in the list.I picked up a Unitrade handbook on first cent issues.it is a well written and very handy reference at a reasonable price with nice pictures. Not overkill either like ten pages of good info. That's why I asked if there was a Large Queens handbook I had missed. I didn't realize you had your stamps pictured at flyspecker.I for one thank you for sharing them with others to see those varieties first hand.

jimjung, Is there an Unitrade publication for the large queen issue similar to the one for first cent issue Any other affordable publications out there Only books I've seen are over $100. Not looking to plate them just like pictures of re-entries and plate flaws.

I had forgotten how many stamps I had bought over the spring/summer . I started to sort them, stick them in glassines and put in place inside sheet protectors on the right page, only to find other glassines already there with others in them. It's going to be a long fun filled winter catching up.Most of my slim budget is spent these days on first cent and large queens issues.I can't wait to find time to delve into all these goodies.

Great to see you posting.I often wonder what the members who seldom post are all about. Please share some of your knowledge here.I have been absent for a bit but will be back very soon now.Welcome Gazza !! My camper and deck are being moved this week and I am exhausted from manual labor involved. Moving the deck is almost the same as moving a house down the road, a thirty five foot structure.

Thanks for the good vibes . I'll post more of this collection come fall and cold weather.I've been spending lots of time at camp without T.V. or internet. A different life style and welcome one too. I dare not bring the hobby there rather have been re-building the wife's rock wall and planting things on our new future camp site.It was being used for the staging of my equipment while we installed new septic system. Now that it's all done they will be moving my camper and deck there soon. A deer family has already munched some of my plants away but I enjoy sharing even so.Can't wait to hang my bird houses and finally get all the wind chimes out.

I shop mostly Ebay but use multiple such as Ebay Ca. U.K. etc.Shopping in other markets such as auctions and Estores works well too. A lot of other sites offer single stamps which is not really the way to get numerous copies at discount price.Good luck Jim,when you reach fifty posts I'll send along what I have about at that time to get you started.

Are we promoting stamp collecting?? Are we supporting any and all that may come for help ?? Mission accomplished.

Hi Jim and welcome. If you are interested in the small and large queens from Canada, the small queens are the easiest to find on a budget.Look for lots or collections containing numerous examples and your started. The large queens are a bit pricey but sub fine copies are good for study group and can be had much cheaper.Look for lots that contain more than one stamp you will rapidly find your numbers growing and soon have enough to start comparing them.A good magnifier and a perf gauge are necessary as well as even an older copy of the Unitrade catalog to start.

I'm of the opinion things belong in the order they appeared.I have been toying with moving my revenues into proper order in with my regular issues as well.It is true a bit harder to relocate but much more right in my mind.It is at the end YOUR collection and there is no right or wrong way to organize it, only what you want.
