I did wonder whether this item had sufficient interest to post, but if nothing else it shows the legitimate use of 'flaw' rather than 'variety' - I think . Not the best of stamps to photograph, and my efforts at blow ups don't do the subject justice. This is the top value of 1 Egyptian Pound from SG 429 - 432 issued 1953 showing Queen Nefertiti, and looks to be one of the earliest to use this borderless all over one colour background. The identical bust portrait was used again three years later as SG 518 - and the same image of the Queen was used later still for overprints for UAR and PALESTINE. The flaw stamp here shows a substantial fly speck on the Queen's headwear which is all the more noticeable against the dark of the 'hat' - plus the same stamp shows a obvious red shift downward from the eyes and mouth - the 'slap' has moved - might this be a 'registration' error?? Not sure if this bust image is a straight lift from her tomb effigy, but the Queen's neck looks anatomically too long. There are couple of other shots of same stamp without these problems just for comparison. I have always mused on the Length of the Queen's neck, (Queen Nefertiti) we must remember , she is just an art work from an Egyptian artist of the time, (stucco over sandstone ?)
I find her mesmerising, she is so beautiful, yet she could just be another woman walking down the high street, today. (Albeit, she is shown with only one eye) shorturl.at/fjwK0Queen Nefertiti Queen in helmet crown of green blue fabric. Enamelled band-yellow headband-red ribbons Uraeus insignia (The snake (cobra) -symbol of the Godess Wadjet))
Small out of registration colour slips, offer no price premium. "Plate flaws" require 2 or more instances on mint, to "prove"

Seriously classical look for King Fuad's 58th Birthday. Not many Egypt stamps of the day had values in Piastres. Printed by Harrison & Sons in Photogravure and issued on April 2nd 1926. Perf 14x15, Multiple Crescent and Star watermark. A beauty and one of my favourites when Egypt stamps were the apples of my eye ! Sadly no longer.
