Three other catalogues I picked up over the past couple months
Hector Mena's Costa Rica Postal Catalogue from 2014. Latin American specialized catalogues can be hard to get, was able to find this from a US dealer
Slovenika catalogue for Slovenia stamps, both the 1918-1919 issues at the start of the Yugoslav era as well as the issues of independent Slovenia post-1991. Got thanks to a contact at Colnect.
Somchai Saeng-Ngern's Thai Stamp Catalogue. Includes a very good section on the various Bhumipol (Rama IX) definitive issues in their various printings and varieties.

Finally I have it ... brand new edition of Michel USA Special 2021/2022. I love this catalog already. Now I can go much deeper into the mysteries of US stamps And why Michel and not Scott? I'am pretty sure that Scott special is more detailed than Michel special and communication with US collectors is much more easy with Scott numbers, but I'am now working with Michel catalogues since ten years. I am familiar with the presentation, I know the abbreviations and I just find it much easier to read German than English. And therefore I think that the Michel Special is quite sufficient for me as a beginner with US stamps. And the Scott numbers I have via colnect. cara

My most recent significant addition to my small collection of paper references. I have too many books already and have to severely limit any additions!
This is such an excellent reference, everyone should have a copy.

This is one of my favorites. Probably long out of print but you can find old copies on ABE and other places.

The edition I have (5th) has all B&W illustrations like the following (click for higher resolution -- including original scan resolution 600dpi):
The newer edition looks like it may have new illustrations in color and maybe higher resolution? I may have to get a copy of that also!

Maybe try using the full Reply. I suspect there are differences between the quick (bottom of the screen) and the main reply at the top of the stack of postings. I am new to this board also but have had no issues adding images using the Reply at the top. I have not tried to add an image to a quick reply but just the name makes me think it has limits.

... I don't understand why I could do the last image but somehow in quick reply I cannot do it again? The Upload Images button in the Quick Reply mode is associated with the TSF Image Host. If you have been using the Add image to post button to add images to posts, you will need to copy the BBCode link and paste it into the Quick Reply if you want to include an image with the post. As an alternative, switch to the Reply mode and use the button to insert the image.

I got this auction catalog in the mail last week. It has a good selection of Indian Feudatory States (IFS). I will likely bid on a couple lots.
For some reason this image won't display. jpg at 300dpi. Trying a higher resolution. Nope. I am officially puzzled. Any ideas?

Yes, the image looks fine to me, then click on it to get the full res image. Not sure why it doesn't work for you. Must be a setting somewhere.

That is just weird. I cleared my cache, restarted my computer, checked a different browser. Same result. I do see the image that you reposted though. Must be a local issue but not one I have encountered before.

Latest addition, actually updating an older version The Farahbakhsh is the catalogue of record for Iranian stamps produced in Iran. Was able to source the 2021 edition from a dealer here in the USA (makes you wonder just how effective the supposed "ban" on trade between the USA and Iran really is )
Bilingual in English and Farsi, with tons of detail on varieties, errors and the like. One quirk of this catalog, being published in a country that uses an Arabic-based writing system, is that the pages are in Arabic-script text order, so that the first pages are at what we in the West would call "the end of the book" I will be selling my old 2015 edition of this catalogue on here in the near future (along with a few other catalogues I have updated over the past few months).

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Like many of you I have quite an assortment of catalogues but the one that I have had from my earliest days of collecting that I still pick up is this little Stamp Finder from The Philatelic Institute. The cover is gone and the pages are dog eared but it is still useful. I am sure many of you have or have had one of these.

Late day arrival: the 2022-2023 Spink/Maury FRANCE - 811 pages - my 2017 had 1103 pages - Now let's take a few hours to decipher any changes (I saw some typo corrected and bigger illustrations for Types)

After listening to others and looking at excerpts from their catalogues I decided to order a couple of German catalogues as that’s an area I’ve been concentrating on recently. After looking around I settled on Michel as being one of the best and these arrived today from a German seller on eBay. They are really good and I’m going to be doing a lot of google translating until I get the hang of it.
