Nearly two weeks without any stamp, therefore vacation in Croatia (Hrvatska) with beach, sun, wine and beer, steak and truffles... and not to forget my wife I love the sea but in every direction I have about 800 to 1.000 km to drive. After 10 hours on the road through Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and Germany we are at home again and my stamps are waiting. Yesterday in the evening at our favourite beach bar. We enjoyed our last day on the beach between Pula and Fazana with a wonderful view to the Brijuni islands:

Since it was a very wet day today, with more on the way tomorrow, those mailings from the draw won't be out until Friday at the earliest.
With Album Easy, I now have 12 pages done for my New Zealand album. It's fast with Album Easy! Thanks, clivel
Tomorrow, I'll have the job of mounting them all! Thanks again Clive! Sheesh, mounting should be as easy as Album Easy! 12 pages and only 2 years, which is why I'm cutting it off after 1991! I'll probably buy issues after that if they tickle my fancy, but I'll be more judicious than I was with Canada from 1993 or so & up.

I inherited a stamp collection...more to come. It also looks like my work will finally slow down a bit once we get past the first week and a half of October so hopefully I will be posting more here and on my FB and Instagram pages. Here is a glimpse of what I picked up this evening.

Made up and printed out some Steiner-ish pages for some Canadian precancels.
Watched the turtle-paced movement of recent purchases making their way through the USPS system.
Reconnected with Steam and got in quick fixes of Wingspan and TransportFever2.
Oh, and had a nice afternoon nap and dinner at the brewery con mi esposa.
Tomorrow brings a local history forum with the topic "messing about in boats." something I know a little about.

Before there was CAPEX 22, the British North America Philatelic Society had scheduled there own annual convention - BNAPEX; a virtual event complete with an Exhibition, Seminars & Dealer's Bourse. Attendance is gratis, but registration is required and can be done from the event's website here.
One component, the exhibition space has some stellar examples of Classic Canadian material and for those interested in more modern material and/or locomotives, I encourage you to cast your eyes on my own two-frame exhibit,
Happy collecting!
September has been a busy month, two clubs I am affiliated with, the British North American Philatelic Society ( BNAPS) and the Canadian Philatelic Society of Great Britain ( CPSGB) both had their annual conventions albeit virtually. My own exhibit, "Paper & Steel: Canada’s Locomotive Series 1983-1986" was awarded a medal and for a newbie to the 'sport' of philatelic exhibiting, I am quite chuffed ;-)
I would encourage anyone interested in Locomotives such as bernardo , anglobob or others simply interested in Canadian philately to have a look at all the exhibits which remain availalbe through the end of next month; remember, October is Stamp Collecting Month :-)
For the other exhibits and presentations from the memberships, many have come from the top shelf and I would encourage anyone to check out the different societies match your own collecting interests. You never know how you might meet and what you may learn...
Happy collecting!

stanley64 I was intrigued by this post and your achievement so decided to investigate further. I had to join (free) in order to view your exhibit but it was well worth the effort. That’s a superb collection and very well presented. I now have to revisit my Canada collections to see if I have any. Very well done.

Hi stanley64, well done Vince , welcome to the world of Exhibiting! My first effort, “ Volcanoes”, way back whenever, got a diploma only, but encouragement in the critique spurred me on to improve . The only way is onwards and upwards from now on. We may not always agree with the judges, but like member JeffS , they are experienced in the rules and know what makes a good exhibit an even better performer . Exhibiting , unlike displaying , has conventions , and comments can either encourage or infuriate. I have persevered over the years but at least two colleagues took offence at criticism of their efforts , exhibited once only and left muttering “never again!” You will have come across Graham Searle on the Zoom , Treasurer and past President of the Aberdeen club , who facilitated the Zoom session you were able to join in Aberdeen last year.

Another night off work catching up with Colnect stuff. Started work with a contributor to flesh out Fiume listings based on Sassone Italy Specialized and the Philatelica Hungarica catalogs, added a few dozen worldwide new issues, and worked on adding catalog information for Malaysia based on the ISC Malaysia catalogue.
Start a six night run at work tonight so stamping likely to be limited until mid next week.

I finally (in two sessions) mounted those 12 pages of New Zealand. Phew.
Then lunch.
Then picked up next batch of drugs and checked mail. Sorry, draw #3 packages weren't ready, should be out tomorrow. Two packages were in. Yay, more stamps. One was a pair of $5 La Mauricie plates from each printer. Sweet. The other, more NZ! I sorted those and put them in the stockbook, as there is plenty of room in there now!

Today has been a good day - as it is almost october I have used up almost all my october budget buying stamps at Stampworld (Hollands Glorie), and all for my thematic collections (smoking, alcohol and drugs) and then also a single stamp for my Swedish Vadstena-cancellation collection. I still have about 2 EUR/USD left in my budget so my mind is set to "I can buy more" and if I am lucky I just remember "I can buy more" and forget about "budget almost used up" (give me a week or so...).

René - indeed, especially if there was a chance to acquire some of shades I lack (which in the epaulettes is more than less). Surely there must be something tobben63 needs?

The downside of completing a new set of album pages? Scanning them for the website. 175+ postmark pages for the German colony in Kiautschou.

My plan is to put together and describe early Belgium. In the material I bought there is a lot of stamps from the early Belgium period. I look forward to receiving it all and share it. I will also need advice to get it right. Anny one know of special literature on Eupalettes and Medallion stamps (Belgium)

Funny Belgium is mentioned. I just BIN's a ½ dozen Belgium stamps just now over on SOR. 5 airmails (C12-C14) and B7 (with tab) used with a perfect cancel. I don't think I have any other Belgiums. Nice airplanes on the C's and I liked the cancel on B7.
Today I'll finish off the New Zealand album pages and get those mounted. Then struggle to get all the dupes in order and maybe try to sell them on SOR. I have too many! And after using my shredder (not on any stamps!) I replaced the stack that sits on top of it. Half slid off, wow - I didn't realize I had so many stamps on that. They need to be sorted and put in a safer place!
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Cool out this morning: 8°C!

I will also need advice to get it right. Any one know of special literature on Epaulettes and Medallion stamps (Belgium) IMHO, I think COB is the best reference for all things Belgium, including the earliest issues There are numerous articles in the BELGAPOST, a publication/journal/newsletter for the Belgian Philatelic Study Group, although some of the earliest articles have at most drawings. I am unaware (or yet to find) any published volume specific to the epaulette and medallion stamps (though there must be one or more out there somewhere)- If anyone might know of other references, please chime in!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

My friend in the antiques and collectibles business has just dropped off another project for me. The deal is I can keep what I want and put the balance of the stuff in some semblance of order to list in one of his MaxSold auctions. My expectations are not great but I see many hours of hunting through countless envelopes sorted by country. Maybe the treasures are in the bottom. These photos are just as it arrived.

I figured I would get some stamp work in before a busy "close week" for Verizon accounting. I decided to go through some ISLE of MAN purchases. I managed to enter in a 4 pair set for Space Exploration from 2003 and a block of 6 for the QEII's Coronation 50th anniversary. Those two were on one page, so that page is now complete. I mounted one more sheet from 2007 for the International Polar Year/links with Northern Canada. I have a 2008 Interceltic sheet that I can't yet mount sadly as my pages only go to 2007 as of now. Now to go through IOM items I have acquired via trade. (edited to add pic)
