I have been sending a baker's dozen of postcards from Girona (Spain) around the world. I do carry stock of Spanish NVI stamps around. In smaller towns, post offices may close Friday around 14:00 CET and not open until the following Monday. When spending a weekend in Spain, I have stamps for my postcards. And when possible, I buy new stock. Post offices stock 'B' and 'C' tariff stamps. However, many post offices do not stock 'D' tariff stamps. The 'D' tariff is required for the basic letter and postcard rate to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and, Russia. The 'D' tariff has been € 2.10 since it was introduced at the beginning of 2022. Since it is the beginning of the year, I am comfortable buying the € 2.10 stamps. No doubt, I shall be using them at some point, this year. Girona is a big enough town for it to have a post office that opens all day on Friday. The 'B' tariff stamps (Europe) is the 2023 annual design-a-stamp competition winner in the youth category. The 'C' tariff stamp is the current definitive depicting the King. The € 2.10 stamp is last year's 50th Anniversary of Pablo Ruiz Picasso's death.

Another fun thing to do is to imitate stamps. Girona features twice in the Spanish 'Monumentos y Paisajes' series that became the 'Turismo' series: a view of the city's houses with balconies hanging over the Onyar River and the Cathedral that boasts the world's widest single mediaeval nave. On the stamp, the Eiffel Bridge is visible, making this a view from the old stone bridge. The picture below was taken from the bridge behind the Eiffel Bridge.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I scanned pages for my country collections on Vario pages that I have not been identified by cataloged or organized in any way other than country.. These are like seedlings. 'Seedlings' is a wonderful image. I love that. Having them on a page, so you can see them, allows your interest to sprout more than if they were in an envelope in a box.✨

Thanks for the share angore this is probably the best way to grow the seedling into a tree. I prefer to do it this way. Envelopes were (are) driving me nuts. Still have a lot of seedlings to plant.

I was pulling DDR stamps from an old album and putting them on Vario pages. I will not likely print any pages for these. I will have to soak some mint stamps that will not peel.

Good Morning Stamp Friends Times are very busy here as we embark upon a big home improvement project. Hubby and I are at that age where we want to get the house the way we want it as we’ll probably live here until they cart our old bones off to assisted living or whatever the future holds. That means upgrading to hurricane windows and an addition. My stamp desk sits in from of a big window wall and when we have to hurricane prep, that means shutters and Stygian darkness. Ugh! Hurricane windows would prevent us living in a cave during these storms. Anyways, We are going to be living in a construction zone for a few months, but it will be great once it’s done. I’ve made some awesome progress filling some gaps in my collections thanks to my penny sales on EBay. Those Pennie’s add up! Every month I save up and buy a few of the pricy items I never thought I’d be able to afford. Let me tell you, finding homes for all of the duplicates and trading them for a few toughies is so satisfying, even if it is a lot of work and very time consuming. As my in-laws call it - it’s “sweat equity”, trading time and labor for funds. The main gems I’ve been able to purchase include an Austrian Dolfuss, Norway London OPs, Greenland “andere farber” OPs, and Finland Zeppelin 1830 error - stamps I never in my wildest dreams I thought I’d be able to afford. I only collect about a dozen countries now. I’m fairly sure I’ll be able to sell most of my duplicates by the end of the year. Almost all of the UN, Australia and Germany are sold. I have a bit more New Zealand and more GB commemoratives and duplicates from collection purchases. I’m working my way back through all of the USA and just finished 2008. Slowly but surely, eh? I’ll be so happy to wrap up these sales and go back to just collecting. I have ZERO desire to be a stamp dealer. My Greenland collection was given some attention yesterday. I am only missing about 10 stamps now, excluding modern confections issued after 2015. I’ve been focusing on Finland mostly, trying to complete a project for Beryllium Guy - thanks for being so patient, Chris! I finished adding the Hibernian numbers for all of the Ireland commemoratives on Colnect. djcmh has been incredibly patient with me as this project has taken me far longer than expected. I plan to buckle down and wrap up the definitive entries soon and set aside time windows to dedicate to this project. There are quite a few specialty items missing from the Ireland section on Colnect, but the main listings are fairly complete. I’ve been bidding on auctions trying to find some of the missing items so that I can add pictures. I also sent a second batch of stamps to Bermuda for cancels last fall and they are just now arriving. I’ll have to document this as an addendum to my newsletter article from a few years ago. Things have changed and not necessarily for the better. Happy stamping everyone!

Work Project Done.... Now for a Little StampingHello, everyone! Apologies that I have been scarce on the boards these last couple of weeks. I have been preoccupied with a work project deadline, which was yesterday, and I am pleased to report that the submission was done in time, after putting in some long hours. It is a relief to have that behind me. Now, we will wait for a few months for our proposal to be reviewed, and hopefully, we will have a response by June or July. So, stamping.... I haven't really done a great deal. During an occasional hour-long break from work, I spent some time going through trading material from a friend, mainly classic French Indo-China, and I found a fair number there that I will keep. I also did a bit of soaking last weekend, and those stamps have been press-flattening ever since, so I need to get those out, organized, and put away. In stamp-related activities, there is a bit more to report. Stan ( stainlessb) and I have been invited to make a presentation about the Soaking Study that we wrote about for the TSF Newsletter, v8.1 to the SOPS (Southern Oregon Philatelic Society). I joined the SOPS some years ago, because I was looking into relocating to that area at the time. The relocation didn't happen (at least not yet), but I have kept the membership. I need to start working on some PowerPoint slides for that. Also, I will be meeting online with Stan this weekend to try to learn more about color quantification using PERFOMaster4000 software. If I can get a handle on that, it will hopefully put me in position to do some more research on Cape Triangle color shades. Stay stampy, all!

After more than two years looking, I finally found a proper cabinet to hold most of my stamp collection, thus arranging properly, the room aimed to this goal. I'm quite happy about. I've been going every Sunday to the stamp market with little success, as the offer was poor. But, just when I decided to re-start buying on internet (Stamporama) and getting some Iceland and Berlin used stamps; yesterday, at the stamp market I was offered a batch of Modern Catalan (1980's) cinderellas at a priced too good to pass, despite just needing a few of the cindies. So, I bought it and , now, I have some to trade.

Not much stamping going on in the last week as I was on a cruise to San Juan, Tortola, and St. Kitts. Great weather until last night, was supposed to be home by 7, but didn't get home until midnight.
After swimming with the dolphins I stopped at the post office on the pier and picked up a few misc. stamps.
There was also an auction at Rasdale that I puts some bids on, but haven't heard if I was successful.

I've been going every Sunday to the stamp market with little success, as the offer was poor.
Where and when is it held? I was im Barcelona just over a week ago. I had addresses of two stamp dealers as I was looking for a block of stamps from 1943. It is a cheap stamp, but difficult to find as a block. One dealer offers it on his website, but with €6 P&P I considered popping in. Unfortunately, I had no time on Friday and the shop closed on Sunday. One block is offered on Ebay, but, as many of the seller's offers, not in any good condition. The stamp dealer I found in the old town of Girona did not have the block.

The Barcelona stamp market is held every Sunday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Plaça Reial (at the corner of Rambles and carrer Ferran)
We still have some brick & mortar stamp shops in Barcelona. Like Filatèlia Llach (Diagonal) and Julio Haefner (Consell de Cent/ Pau Claris), Filatèlia Gaudí (Avinguda Gaudí)... Outside Barcelona, there are only a few stamp shops remaining in Catalonia.

Just over a week ago was the successful bidder at a stamp Auction for a collection of Rail related Covers, Around 400 items. Have started going through the lot sorting out the duplicates within the actual lot ( just a handful), Some non GB covers which will eventually go for sale and checking what I have already got in the collection. Some duplicates put up for sale on ebay and today just added those from 1969 in to the collection and uploaded on to the website. now to check through 1970. Covers in excellent condition and I think a very good buy. Some shown below. Geoff (GBCC) www.gbcovercollector.co.uk

Ended up catching Covid on my trip and have not done anything the last few days. Feeling much better now and hope to do some stamping tonight and this weekend.
Also learned I won a few lots from the Rasdale Auction. I'll have to wait until later next week to pick them up.

Short SF Bay Area TripGreetings, all! As I write this, my wife is driving the car as we head north to visit family friends for a couple of days. Stamp-wise, I spent several hours on Friday and Saturday de-cluttering my desk, which involved going through lots of stamps that had piled up there. Those were a combination of keepers and trading material. The keepers are mainly from Cuba and Indo-China. The trading material is from all over. I won’t have access to stamps during this trip, so any stamp time will be spent on my laptop, either checking in on TSF or starting to work on the Newsletter. Stay stampy, all!

After soaking some stamps, I was looking at some from Canada (many from TSF and SOR members) and realized (forgot) that my Canada collection had issues up to 2000 (printed pages and mounted)! It is good to review what you have in addition to what you want. I will need to revisit what I need. I also found I had a lot of spares to get rid off.

Tough weeks and months have meant little stamp activity.
The last three weeks I have been laid up for the most part with a severe Bronchial flu, the worst I have ever experienced. It is the 4th bout of flu I have had this winter. Playing with stamps was far from the agenda. Also, my trusted desk lamp died after 10 years continuous service and I had to wait two weeks for a replacement from my jeweler contact. But all is looking better now and today, a National holiday for local elections, I am surrounded by albums and preparing for the next bourse and continuing with the Philatelic cull of my collections.
With flights starting to come and go, my wish is that I can begin to buy and sell online once again. Nothing much has been added to those collections I hold dear. It would be nice to make some additions.

Today I have been admiring the latest addition to my French Cinderella Collection. But I purchased it last summer !!! The seller (eBay) would only send to the USA so, having won the item, I had it sent to an address of a friend in New York. Another friend from our village was going to NY and would bring it back with her early September.........except she didn''t ! At the last minute, something happened and it didn't go into her suitcase. Fast forward 6 months and the NY family had another visit from one of our community and yesterday the beautiful 'Citex' folder was in my hands ! I left feedback long ago and am very impressed by the quality of the item which is near perfect for the age. Showing only the cover as the item in full was posted by anglobob already. thestampforum.boards.net/thread/6014/philatelic-exhibitions-societies-france.........on Page 1. I'd been after this folder at a decent price and decent quality for a long time. Here it is. CITEX 1949, 'Centenaire du Timbre-Poste Francais'.
