On the Cape cancels, I used to spend time at shows, after looking for things I wanted, looking for Cape cancels, actulally other countries as well, depending on time and fatigue. Great choice, Cape stamps with great postmarks make for a wonderful combination! I collect them to, have about 300 different Cape postmarks. A very addictive interest indeed!

anglobob - what an amazing display of "losange ancre" - I say WOW!! ps - I might be wrong - but could that 2nd last stamp on the bottom row be roman letter 'K' - Paris Bureaux de quartier? LINK - Bureaux-de-quartier
Edit - I was wrong indeed . anglobob was kind enough to send me a close-up that revealled the suspected 'K' was not there, just another nice anchor cancel. Envy

A selection of convoyeur - ligne cancellations from France, plus cancellations from various train stations. These are part of a collection I purchased about 5 years ago .The original owner spent a lot of time arranging and displaying the stamps ....I felt guilty about breaking it up so just put it in plastic sleaves. There are over twenty pages, all different lignes.

What I collect: Cancels mostly, especially Sweden Gävle and Lidingö, Switzerland Geneva, Germany Pforzheim

Okay, I confess; this is a nice but not spectacular stamp. I got it for SEK 10 (one greenback a-dollar) plus another 23 crowns for postage.
What is interesting is the endless stream of Lidingö cancels like this specifically from 1986-89. Why so much stuff, and only those years? The place is barely collectable, a commune in Sweden, a small county, population about fifty-thousand, a bedroom island suburb of Stockholm; there is a bridge. For all other periods, Lidingö cancels are rare and forget quality. But for four years in the 1980s, it’s like picking mushrooms in autumn.
Have you seen anything similar for your pet places? An obvious guess is there was a club, a few collectors. They moved on and this stuff got dumped on the forest floor for me.

Kasvik:
Interesting question and post, and good guess! Another guess: 1986 a little early for on-line sales and mail outs, but maybe a short-lived mail order business sending out orders or advertising, or even a non-profit sending out solicitations and donation acknowledgements?
