Very nice collection, thanks for posting your album pages, are they self made? They are custom made. At times, I use Steiner pages but these are made through AlbumGen software from and with EZStamp - they go with my inability to do better, more complicated pages and the mounting of stamps is not perfect. Some flexibility exists when I want to change or add some more data.........but I have seen more wonderful pages on TSF and I always appreciate them. René

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Some holes filled and an upgrade arrived today for my Newfoundland collection. The lot includes a Unitrade 21, 34i (I do not chase reentries but this stamp has them), 60a grey lilac and 84 which is an upgrade to mint for me.

I have had the mint Unitrade 129 (on the right) for some time and this past week I was finally able to acquire the Unitrade 128 mint but without glue (it is on the left in the photo). The difference is the space between the bars which is obvious.

very very nice and almost all mint. The quality of the scan is quite good and it will help me with colour determination which I find for me is a particular challenge.

michael AS you note, Walsh does not mention dry printing. Therefore I sent a communication to Mr. Robin Harris, Editor of Unitrade, to try to get his views When recceived, I will be back - Thanks René
Did you ever get a reply to this? I've been recently corresponding with John Walsh on another matter so I asked him about the reference to dry printing, his reply, "nonsense".

michaelre: your March 2 post on NFLD # 1 stamp and the mention in Unitrade Canada Specialized cat that it had been "dry printed" I contacted Robin Harris, Editor of Unitrade and he did not respond, so I tried again and here is his answer: _____________________________________________________________________________________ rharris adminware.ca 1:39 PM (39 minutes ago) to me Received. Thanks for this. I don’t seem to have a record of the original e-mail sent to the Unitrade folks. Hmm? Robin____________________________________________________________________________________ So we will see in future Edition if this is deleted René

This should be a nice addition to my Newfoundland oldies as I won the Auction and paid under 45% OF CV (Unitrade - Walsh - Scott) FOR SUCH A PAIR of top inscription (VF-OG) # 59 Sott/UNITRADE) or Walsh 2024 N. S.S. C. cat.....# 49. My problem (in CV) is that no catalog will give you a value for such a pair with top inscription....I will manage . Cannot wait to receive the item by Canada Post this week from Brixton-Chrome - I do have my thoughts on their CV but at least did pay, as mentioned under 45 % (or less........my proxy bid killed the auction as nobody wanted to go over $175C) Will scan and show in the NFLD thread this week.... Renénota bene: When I present my scan (later) I will give you a comparison between CVs from 3 catalogs: Scott Specialized 2021/Unitrade 2023/Walsh 2024 N.S.S.C. catalogs and none gives me a CV for this item LOL !! Scott= US$ Walsh=US $ Unitrade Canada Specialized = $C

You should be proud. Rob

Is the issue that an inscription would require 3 stamps?
(regardless, it's a lovely pair)

C. J. The only catalog (from the 3 I named and used as reference) which show an illustration of the full inscription is WALSH N.S.S.C (my new version is 2024 now...have a 2018.) It is clear and you are right - 3 stamps are needed to see The British American Bank Note Co. Montreal.Happy to have found that pair though René

If any stamper (Canada afficionado) has a way to do a CV of the above NFLD pair # 59 (with top inscription) let me know - I have it at $400 by adding both stamps but 3 catalogs (I mentioned) do not help !

This NEWFOUNDLAND page was redone to correct an "error" on a previous page shown on page 3 of this thread.....as page 2. Shown by mistake was a Scott/Unitrade # 82 (red) with a used # 81 orange. The Royal Family can now be seen with a proper # 82 René

I picked up this item on a whim with a lowball bid. For sure a full cover would have been more interesting. I liked the combined use of a Unitrade 28 and 54. It appears to have been a registered item possibly to London. It is on a card stock. It would date from around 1890. The listing described .12 stamp as 28a which should be on thin yellowish paper. No one, including me, was buying that.
