My sister is at it again. Travelling from the Canal to the Falklands down the west coast of South America. I do like getting used stamps from the Falkland Islands! She also got me the coronation first day cover, very nice indeed!! Very nice!

Thanks for sharing sudbury12000 and whilst it is impolite to read other people's mail, I did enjoy your sister's writings including the bit about penguins. Do we have another topical collector in the making? POSSU is a welcoming group... Have fun and happy collecting!!

Cover from Ripoll (catalonia), circulated this week. The problem is that the Spanish PO has centralized the cancelling of letters from all around Catalonia in Barcelona, and you always get the same pm.

Here's a new arrival from Belgium, nicely hand-canceled in the village of Grimminge just two weeks before showing up here in the U.S. I like the two fruit definitives from 2019, too.

I am sucker for unseen lots. sometimes you lose, most times I enjoy the heck out of the sort. The Bahrain are MNH, nice bonus. And a nice couple of forgeries of Antigua.
Nice Tete-Beche for my India and if someone is aware of control marks on the 1P GVI, please let me know. I will post the Antigua forgeries in the appropriate place for reference. sudbury12000 I spot a poached egg ! A cracker of a lot, never seen the India tete-beche before, looks like quality stamps throughout. Lots of fun. Not seen the Mauritius mutilated stationery piece, as well, before. The "backs of the stamps" you show, are an excellent example, or papers, between "(horiz) laid paper" and "wove paper"

rod222 and @ renden , funny how a keen eye picked that out. I had a whole bunch of used stationery from the BE and had no place to put them or mount them. Then in a bulk auction I picked up a perfectly scalped 1899 Scott Album for every stamp in the world, and it had spots for stationery. The dealer thought it was scalped but inside the the back cover where about 30 stamps and a 8 stamp paste up coil of the admiral series. I mentioned it to the dealer and it shocked him shown below. Meanwhile, I digress. I have never seen any cut squares for Mauritius before, but now I have one in that album.

Received this in the letterbox this week; an envelope from Australia with several contemporary stamps including a couple from the 'International Year of Astronomy' series (2009) and the 3rd reprint of the Short-beaked Echidna (2018) with its three koala reprint indicator appearing in the right selvage,
The cover had been destined from the 'cut & soak' bin for the postage stamps, but with the receiving postmark on the back, I am not so sure now...
What would you do?
Have fun and happy collecting!
P.S. If anyone has a clear image of the applied machine cancel, please do share.

More interesting to me though is the Australian machine or spray cancel with what appears to be a dog as past of the cancel. Do you, or anyone else have an image of that one?
I did a quick Internet search, but came up empty-handed...
Have fun and happy collecting!!

That is the one; a nice spray-on machine cancel from the folks at Australian Post. Thanks for posting franoise :-) Seeing the cancellation in its full, has sealed (no pun intended) the fate of my own envelope...
Have fun and happy collecting!

This Week's Mail Postmarked in Portugal on 04-Jan-2024 Arrived in Ontario, California on 30-Jan-2024The beautiful cover shown below was sent to me by stanley64, containing some stamps as part of a trade we are making. All I can say is thank you very much for using such nice postage on the cover, and for getting those stamps very nicely cancelled, too. This is the nicest cover I have received in a very long time! Thanks, Vince, your efforts are much appreciated! Also, please note that this is my 5,555th post. I saved the "four fives" milestone as a nod to you, since I know you love the fives!

The daily mail well stamped can be very colorful.
Tried to add a scan of a cover, but didn't figure out how to connect it to this post.

Glad to see the envelope arrived Beryllium Guy; it does look good; but certainly made easier with nice postage from Portugal and a co-operative mail clerk ;-)
All in a day's trade and besides, the walk to the post office is a pleasant one...
Have fun and happy collecting!
