HM Queen Elizabeth II Stamps & Ephemera

Whilst looking for the diamond commemorative pack I came across this beauty of a cover.  It scares me how I am starting to lose track.  Still never found what I was looking for. 

I really hope you do enjoy seeing the different bits.  Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get any one in  the UK to take my collection seriously as a historical document and that most photographs and art of HM Queen I can identify and have originals.  I just don't want the information to get lost ic something happened to me.  So much instated in my head. 

I found my portrait in one of the major magazines over the last few weeks and was so excited.

It's historically significant as it is original and depicts the Queen's coronation 

I tried to let people know I own the original but apparently their specialists know better than me!

On a  positive we get an extra bank holiday for Charles  Coronation.

Mine is the original painting.  It was shown in black and white in 1953 and colour recently.












My answer their loss to  portraits that have not been seen before in real life.

Please just ask if you would like to see a certain one.  I have large sets for many of the monumental celebrations from commonwealth and territories.   Many which no longer exist. 

Stamp issued by Gambia in 2001 on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II's 75th birthday:

HM Queen Elizabeth II was patron of the Royal Philatelic Society London from 1952 - 2022. To commemorate Her Majesty's support for philately the RPSL commissioned Martin Mörck, supported by the Global Philatelic Network, to produce an engraved-style portrait of her.

A wax relief print signed by the artist was included in the December 2022 edition of 'The London Philatelist', as a gift to members by the Global Philatelic Network.

It is quite beautiful, if only Royal Mail could produce a commemorative recess printed stamp of this portrait.

Broken my new years resolution of taking better pictures.  However I have realised my life is full and the only chance I get to spend time on my collection is a few precious hours in the evening.

I have been researching Pietro Annigoni more and thought you might like to see these stamps.


 I found them in a local antique place.  You have to go through folders and folders of stamps to find what you are looking for.  Had half an hour and was impressed with what I found in that time.

I am sorry I haven't been on for a while. My course is taking more out of me than I thought. I have had little time to concentrate on my HM Queen collection which I have missed dearly.

The Opening of the Docklands Light Railway, London 30th July 1987. A Visit to the Guildhall in the City of London to mark the 800th Anniversary of the City of London Lord Mayor, 8th February 1989.
A visit to the Pacific Princess, moored on the River Thames off Greenwich, to mark the 150th Anniversary of the P&O Shipping Company 1837-1987, 7th July 1987.

Good afternoon

Sorry have been away for so long.  Time goes so quickly.  Have finished and passed my first course so have some time.

I want to say a huge thank you to this group.  You gave me the confidence to let others know about my collection without being embarrassed. 

I am proud to say I have just recently curated my own exhibition on Dorothy Wilding.  It is up at Gloucester and I am so proud.

I have met the present president and 3 ex presidents of the Philatic society in Glocestrr  who were very  impressed by the quality of ny collection.  Not so much my presentation skills but that is to be expected from me.! 

I thank you all so much for being patient with how I display the work.  I have bought myself a proper stamp presentation book now. Must admit it is still in folders at present.

I hope I have done Dorothy Wilding proud. For the exhibition there are a few main portraits up.  For the actual stamp collection I have 3 extra folders.

I have found it fascinating that Dorothy Wilding had stamp designs from 1937 all the way to 2023! From research she is probably the photographer whose British stamps have been used for the longest time.

She documented 2 royal coronations, one wedding, 3 deaths (King George v1, Queen Mother and God bless her the Queen) 

When I get chance I will photograph the folders of stamps so you can see the history I have managed to find.  I have found it fascinating.

Thank you Vince.  I am determined I will bring Dorothy Wilding back into the limelight.
