It sounds a little bit strange, but 1901 and 1915 are correct. There are 13 (Michel nos.) QV stamps what remained
valid till June 30th,1915.It maybe that S.G.lists a bigger number of stamps,as they often give varieties own numbers.
All others became invalid on May 31st,1901. All E VIII stamps became invalid on March 31st,1939 salentin, should this last date be 1930? Thanks, Daniel

A very attractive but slightly odd cover marking the 200th Anniversary of the United Kingdom with a nice special handstamp for 1st January 2001. I'm not sure of the significance of the other handstamp for 26th March 2007.

A cover to honour Major General The Right Honourable Sir Frederick Sykes. A British Forces Postal Service cover marking the 75th Anniversary of the formation of The Royal Flying Corps, later The Royal Air Force. Sykes was the first Officer Commanding of the Military Wing of The Royal Flying Corps. In the picture below from 1913, Major Sykes is seated in the centre front row. The photo is described as "a group of officers of the Royal Flying Corps. These men were among the first flying and administrative officers of the RFC, and some of the first pilots ever qualified by the Royal Aero Club".
He would later hold the ranks of Chief of Staff, Royal Flying Corps in the Field, Officer Commanding the Royal Flying Corps in the Field and Chief of the Air Staff. After the war, he became a politician and Controller of Civil Aviation
The cover is signed by his son Bonar Sykes whose mother was the daughter of the Conservative Party Leader and later Prime Minister, Bonar Law.

Charles Dickens and William Wordsworth First Day Covers 3rd June 1970 An interesting joint issue. Although Dickens has 4 stamps, Wordsworth has the high value. Two separate covers with ordinary circular date stamps but relevant to each writer. Dickens moved to Rochester in 1856 and died there in 1870. So, 1970 marks the centenary of his death. Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth in Cumberland (now Cumbria) in 1770 and so, 1970 was his birth bicentenary.

The SS Great Britain Returns to Bristol 23 June 1970 On the original first day envelope for the British Ships stamps issued in 1969, this cover marks the return of the Steamship Great Britain to Bristol on 23rd June 1970. The SS Great Britain was commissioned by the Great Western Steamship Company in 1839. The designer was Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the ship would be built in a specially designed dock in Bristol. It would be the largest passenger ship in the world, an iron-built, screw-propelled steamship. Launched by Prince Albert in1843 and its first voyage from Liverpool to New York was in 1845. However, after an accident in 1846, the ship was out of service for six years. She was later sold and served as an Australian emigrant ship, sold again in 1882 and converted to a sailing ship. Further damage would cause her to be used as a store ship in the Falkland Islands up until 1937 when a leak caused her to be moved to Sparrow Cove where she lay aground. IN 1970 Sir Jack Hayward, an an English businessman, property developer, philanthropist, and president of English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers, paid for her 'to be o be raised and repaired enough' to be towed north through the Atlantic back to the United Kingdom, and returned to the Bristol dry dock where she had been built 127 years earlier.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

The designers of the stamps. The open card was too long to scan as one piece but this gives one an idea and covers most of the features.
