This should give me a pretty good start on Sweden, when I get a "round tuit".

Ram - Yeah. It was sitting there for about a week and a half while I was mulling it over. Today the seller dropped the BIN by 35% so I had to do it. Most of the value is in smaller sets that would take me forever to get one by one. There are also duplicate sets of some with used and unused, which is nice since that is my main collecting goal. Also some better circle types to fill the holes I have.

Some of the loot from today's bidding frenzy (sellers pics). A bunch of the circle types from Sweden, for future study. 2 complete sets, 1 used and 1 mint, of the semi-postal issue of 1918 (Sweden again) A nearly complete MH set of Sweden's Gustaf issue, minus 3 stamps. 3 inexpensive coat of arms issues, which I basically got because I liked the postmark on the right hand stamp. Some more Christian X issues to help fill in some holes (I'm starting to get some dupes from these group buys). There were others, but these were the highlights. Now and I need to just sit back and let some of this stuff appear in my mailbox.

Thanks! I had to kind of fight for those and pay a little more than planned, but still worth it. The rest I got with single bids.

Just received this stock book of mint Saar stamps. In the back pages there were also some German-occupied zones, Bohemia & Moravia, Ukraine, etc. No copies of Stoltzpup's avatar stamp, unfortunately - maybe that one is in the next mailing, I also won a companion stock book filled with used Saar. Nice catch Ryan. (Looks expensive) For your Used SAAR, keep a look out for the double ring cancellation 1933 This seems to relate to the tragic Neunkirchen gas explosion, that flattened part of the township

And yes, it was the book of used Saar waiting for me at the post office. This time, the back pages were filled with German occupation of Luxembourg, Alsace & Lorraine, etc. Ryan

Newfoundland, mint set of The Trail of the Caribou
I finally found a complete set on Ebay for a reasonable price. This set was issued in 1919 and each stamp commemorates an action by the Newfoundland regiment in WWI.
Go Seahawks!

My Canada MNH collection doesn't get too much attention at the moment - I don't have things organized enough to look for minor varieties and the major numbers that I'm missing are hard to find or too expensive! But here's one that I picked up from the latest Maresch auction, the 50 cent Widow's Weeds issue, Canada #47. Ryan

Ryan, that is a very impressive stamp! The best centering I have ever seen on that issue, congrats! Theron.

Ryan, that is a very impressive stamp! The best centering I have ever seen on that issue, congrats! Theron. It was conservatively graded at Fine, so I put in a healthy bid and won it easily. True, it's centred low, but I would put it at F-VF, and with the very high MNH premiums for the Small Queens, it makes a big difference in catalogue value. I bid as though it were F-VF, others bid as though it were F, and now it sits in my album for quite a bit less than I was willing to spend. It's one of the issues that I was never able to find because as you say, most of the ones you see on the market aren't centred too well. Yay! Ryan

Got a bunch of stuff at my club's bourse yesterday, some I've already shown elsewhere on the forum. Here's a single item I rather like. This plus a few others acquired finish my collection of the US 1922-25 per 11 series (used, the mint are another story).

Found a few unused, South American postal cards (at an antique mall of all places!)yesterday. I really like these things and may look for some more now. This one from Guatemala, printed by the American Bank Not Co., is my favorite out of the ones I got. I love the railroad motif.

Found this listed as a "Denmark Collection" with no other description and a few other random pictures (some a bit closer) of scattered Denmark stamps. I could see a number of bi-colored issues so I thought I'd take a chance and throw out a lowball bid. I didn't really expect much, but a fun group to examine and possibly fill some holes. I got the lot in the mail today and was pleasantly surprised. There were quite a few bi-colored issues, a nice pile of more modern used commemoratives and everything in between. I actually think they must have found more stamps to throw in, because there were more than I anticipated. Probably averaged about .02 per stamp. Here they are in semi-sorted piles. This will be a lot of fun!

This is possibly my nicest addition in the last month. I got the set thru the 300R one week and the 1000R popped up the next week. Who knows if I'll ever get the 500R.

Yesterday, I received the nifty lot below. It mainly consists of some early Argintine proofs. In addition is a Terra del Fuego stamp which has an interesting history, Google; "Terra del Fuego 1891" and you can read all about it. The second stamp appears to be an unadopted essay. I would appreciate any information on this stamp that anyone might have. I've never seen it before and suspect it might be a prize. For some reason the image is not showing. You can see it HERE

The problem with the image(s) not appearing in the above post resulted from a failure to delete the "http://" in the Insert Image dialog box when inserting the URL to an image hosted offsite.
Should you run in to problems like this in the future, view the post in BBCode to ensure that only one "http://" appears in the image URL.

Just got this very decent Denmark #15 in the mail today. Been looking for one I could afford, so I jumped on this one and won it for about 10% of my 1979 Scott catalog.

You got 29 stockbooks full of stuff? WOWZERZ!! LOL nope though I could of wished. This lot they are in very good condition, very pleased with them. Yeh me to, I prefer a good old mooch through a pile of stamps to buying a set or single, no fun in that. You all have some really nice stuff looking through this thread, i'll get there, slowly but will do some day.
