Two excellent books on British postmarks by John G Hendy. The red one covers up to 1840 and the other from 1840 to 1876,

I was reading some old philatelic books on the Internet Archive and came across two titles from the late 1970s, both by C.E. Foster. Showcasing your stamp collection
How to Prepare Stamp Exhibits
I see them both on ebay and they look like fun. I love the old pre-personal computer, pre-internet era books and both of these would have come out just before PCs changed the game for collectors. Both look like they were printed on an old IBM computer printer, for one thing.
Does anyone have a copy in your library? I'd love some thoughts and opinions before I start calculating ebay shipping costs.

arrived today. The Storch and Francon book appears to have been rebound in hardcover- (all previous ones I have seen are softbound) the enierior does not appear to be a reprint/copy. I need more shelf space (eyeing the US and UN binders..... they may need to get boxed up!)

It rained heavily all day yesterday so a good day to have something new to read. Delivered by a rather wet postman .
Barbados The Britannia Issues by M. Fitz Roett, 220 pages, published by the British West Indies Study Circle, excellent vaue for ÂŁ15.

A new arrival. It’s bilingual, fortunately! To me, Finnish is a tough language to learn - it’s not even in the Indo-European language family if I’m not mistaken.

Just received this thanks to a friend from Colnect. New 2024 Specialized Catalogue for Yugoslavia from World Stamps Project. Published in Slovenia, bilingual in English and Slovene. Very detailed with lots of plate flaws, overprint flaws etc, especially for the 1918-1921 regional issues.

After a quick perusing of the thread, I could find no reference to any of edition of this catalogue, 'Scott-First-Day-Cover-Catalogue-and-Checklist'
If anyone has a copy, please do share...
Thanks and happy collecting!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

As I have been going farther into Canadian Revenue Stamps I decided that my 1987 Van Dam catalogue was a bit dated. My 2022 catalogue arrived today.

arrived today. I have been trying to get this for some time, always losing the auction. I now have most of their references, which IMHO are excellent.

Didn't get the mail yesterday, so I had a nice surprise when I checked the box this morning. From Amazon.fr -- a general rather than a specialist read but it looks to be full of interesting stories.

A couple of interesting items arrived in today's mail from the Stuart Rossiter Trust. A - A Postal History of the Free French in London 1940 to 1945 by Peter A. Baker (2017) B - A digital copy of Volume 2 of Netherland's Mail in Time of Turmoil: 1793 to 1815 by Kees Adema. Volume 1 and 3 are around, but it's been hard to find Volume 2 - especially without paying an arm and a leg. The Stuart Rossiter Trust had a copy on CD.

I will have to find some photogenic angle on the 3 boxes I just got from an auction house. They were the books on French philately from the estate of Sergio Sismondo, the expertizer and Scott editor. My goal is to know what the expertizers know in the areas I collect more seriously.

Nice! Some i recognize, many I do not! To the right a couple of books fromthe Januier 49, the plastic finge/spine binding Maury? The plastic spines are for a 2 volume set of "Images of the Great War: a fully illustrated catalogue of Delandre's French (and non-French) Miltary Vignettes, 1914-1917" Author is W. Schmidt.
Another box contained a collection of philatelic journals.

Arrived this morning. A little book (literally, pocket size), but lots of illustrations. It is in new condition and inside was a handwritten note from the author thanking whoever originally purchased. (a fun fact)

I've been waiting for this. It arrived today, through ABE, from a seller in British Columbia. The Postal History of the Canadian Contingents in the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 by Kenneth Rowe. Published in 1981 by the Vicent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation, Toronto.
